Even if it's the most ridiculous signal ever, it's still also the most racist signal ever.

I'm so sorry, I appear to have wandered into the Discussion thread by accident. I'll let myself out.

Considering its an ethnicity as well, yes.
Either way, even if you don't consider it a ethnicity or race, it's bigoted as fuck.

Well, hell. I don't want to vote people for being assholes, but it wouldn't be the first time. But, it's day 1!

I think you're confusing systematic discrimination with racism. You can systematically discriminate against fat people, but you can't be racist against them.

Except that historically that systematic discrimination happened in explicitly racial terms. The Nazi's viewed what they were doing on racial lines. If I thought fat people were a race, filled my rhetoric with hateful attacks on "the fat race" and passed laws discriminating against "the race of fat people"...even if I was wrong about them being a race (or if people llater decided that they weren't a race by a different metric than the one I used at the time), wouldn't that still be racism?

I mean, if my intention is explicitly to discriminate based upon racial grounds, I'm being racist regardless surely?

A) I wasn't aware the Nazis treated it like a race.
B ) Your example argues that Nazis were racist. It doesn't say anything about the signaller guy.
