Well dang, that is…informative. I haven't the least experienced with AI, other than the scary news stories.

AI will almost certainly write book three of the series in the style of Pat Rothfuss (among others)---myriad times over, whether Rothfuss or his publisher or his estate like it or not.

It will most likely also make many audiobook versions.

There have been arguments that there isn't enough great literary writing in the world for the artificial neural networks we have now to keep learning from to the point of being great writers. (One difference between current artificial neural networks (ANN) and the brains they're loosely modeled on (which contain natural neural networks, among other things) is that brains require far fewer examples to learn from. Though ANN could mitigate that by testing their prose on humans, especially if they can get people to do it for free (perhaps as part of an addictive game?...).)

The dream of an artificial mind may never become a reality if AI runs out of quality prose to ingest—and there isn’t much left.

Rothfuss's writing isn't all that great or original anyway, so it won't be much of a step down in quality. ML should be able to do it I think.
