I have been waiting for more than a year to reveal this. The time has come.
Fires of Heaven spoilers I guess?

It's not a spoiler because it's not canon.
Edit: Okay, I guess it's a spoiler that Asmodean died. But I have a bumper sticker that says "I killed Asmodean", so I guess that's how I feel about that.

This just makes me sad!
Thousands of hours of fan conjecture wasted and ruined because he changed his mind and lied about it. The entire Taim, demandred fiasco in my mind is one of the worst aspects of the book. So unsatisfying.
still despite this, and I don't think this is an isolated incidence, and despite the books becoming less satisfying as they began to sprawl I still give the man credit for weaving the weave he did.

I was disappointed to read this as well. Demandred showing up in the last book with a Shara army was a weak part of the story.

Yeah, but that was true before we learned about Taimandred. For me, the revelation gives me closure because it confirms that RJ really did have a good idea for what to do with Demandred. Changing his mind was (IMO) a mistake, but one I can live with because I'm able to read LOC the way it was originally intended to be read, and imagine the whole story following that point. It's hard to explain, but I'm not the only one in the fandom who was more excited by the news than anything else.

That's a healthy attitude to take. It's nice to have this info for when I eventually do a reread.
In the end, I'm glad you found this, thanks for sharing.
