Other half and I had the marriage conversation, it's not imminent but I have ideas of things I'd like to get into the ceremony somewhere. Malazan means such a lot to me that I feel like something needs to be there, even if it's only small and subtle.

Are there any quotes anybody could think of for a reading or similar? I'm not particularly bothered about it being particularly about love, just something uplifting. Steve has such a lovely way with words I'm sure there's something in there.

Example - I want to get Captain Mal's "Makes her a home" speech about Serenity in there somewhere. It's not about love between two people, so it can be as wide of that mark as needs be really.

Most of the quotes that immediately jump at me are the big ones - the closing "And now the page before us blurs" and The Lay of the Bridgeburners and such.

Thought... should I buy a hat????

Seriously though... good luck with those talks and all the best to both of you :p

My favourite quote on that topic:

Courting is the art of growing like mould on the one you want. Draconus giving relationship advice to Ralata and Ublala Pung - The Crippled God/Chapter 2

Haha, it won't be for a couple of years yet! Talks were all good, thanks Egwene! Posted Image we just agreed we would do the majority of the saving up before we get engaged, then we don't have a mad panic and hopefully it should keep things a bit more relaxed. Mostly, I am just aiming at having more stealth-geek in the wedding than anyone can cope with! :)

Good old Draconus!

First in, last out :p Or get the registrar to say 'Witness' when you say your vows...

Just a few genuine suggestions:

The heart of wisdom is tolerance.

I travel seeking the best in us
And one day it shall rise before me
To bless this journey of mine, and this road
I began upon long ago shall now end
Where waits for all the best in us.
(replace 'I' with 'we')

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Firstly, I make an excellent bridesmaid, just throwing it out there...

Secondly, seems like I remember some excellent quotes that Tehol said that could quite easily be transposed to a wedding scenario...
A Haunting Poem
I Scream
You Scream
We all Scream
For I Scream.

WITNESS

...seems appropriate for a wedding.

It should be growled or shouted.

From tCG, a bit long, though:

Quote

'Yes, I have heard about them, and it seems to me that no matter which way each faces, he or she faces the other. He is her king and she is his queen, and everything else just follows on from there. It is the rarest of loves, I should think.'

"Always an even trade"

Seriously, I'm right. You should say this shit to your beloved and mean it. You can't achieve your best without a worthy partner.
