You hear a whisper in the shadows. It mumbles:

Quote

George C. Parker here. Now listen fellas I have a deal for you. The barking dog is a figure of great renown, unlike that hooded rat. In Sing Sing we know what to do with them. Tales abound, but your hear nothing but the truth from my lips. As I predicted the shadow was not one of us. The wizards lost a powerful figure and are now crowded on the bridge that is for sale. It is time to pack the bridge up and send it to join the London Bridge in the desert. Now there is a culture if I ever saw one. Perhaps the robust fellow from the Plains would care to join me for a hunt.

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Well, let's try to interpret it using Wikipedia.

Again, the name used belonged to a con man, which was argued to mean rogue after the last whisper. Then, there's talk of wizards crowded on a bridge that is for sale. The "bridge for sale" is a reference to the con Parker used use, selling a bridge to his targets, so I guess the whispers mark the Wizards as targets. Then the message says "culture" and "hunt", so I guess that's Culture Hunt. However, you need more than five votes for that, so they ask the "robust fellow", which could mean barbarian, to join in. That's the deal the whisperer opens with.

However, another interesting thing: "The barking dog is a figure of great renown, unlike that hooded rat."

I think that the whisperer claims to be able to find, as it claims to have predicted that shadow was no real alt with "There is are shadows in the night that do not belong to us.". I think that's plausible. So the bit about "The barking dog is a figure of great renown, unlike that hooded rat." is the whisperer claiming that HP's find of Togg is false.

Yeah, I got the point on HP and Togg. Robust fellow could be the barbarians...

So what is your take? I think HP is likely lying to protect Gait.

Lynch Gait by all means, he's a suspected wizard and wizards already have a member missing. Or the wizards and Others who understand insight and perception to lynch Togg followed by those looking to steer the lynch gaits way.

I suspect that with Togg's reveals, he will be the target of finds and other NAs.

Not to be too much of a belittling dickhead, but when possessed PS copied my Role PM to my normal account so that I could still talk to him and it wasn't entirely lost when deleted from my alt. I was told it would last a Day and that I could still submit a NA.

You could submit an NA despite being locked out? Not impossible I guess, but I'm going to be taking that with this very large pile of salt over here. Nevertheless, there hasn't exactly been much activity on thread and I feel we're just dawdling our way to time out now. So back to

Vote Gait

for still making the most obvious mistake thus far. And let's see what tomorrow brings.

It is now Day 2. 45 hours 37 minutes remaining.

17 players left alive: Aparal Forge, Bendal Home, Denesmet, Denul, Eloth, Gait, Hood’s Path, Kadagar Fant, Kessobahn, Liosan, Mockra, Olar Ethil, Ryllandaras, Serc, Shadow, Togg, Ultama

8 votes for a lynch, 8 votes to go to night.

8 votes Aparal Forge: Eloth, Bendal Home, Hood's Path, Olar Ethil, Ryllandaras, Serc, Liosan, Gait

Players not voted: Aparal Forge, Denesmet, Denul, Kadagar Fant, Kessobahn, Mockra, Shadow, Togg, Ultama

In the haunting light of dawn, one Wizard knelt alone before Allugath. He muttered the incantations of his spell feverishly, over and over, gathering power. Naught but hours had passed since another Elemental had been destroyed, but his eyes darted to the Rogues in the grassy valley, the Barbarians across the fields, and to his own holy tribe on the hilltop behind him. All seemed but confusion now, as if he could recognize none of them. His spell began to take shape.

From the hilltop, another Wizard yelled. "He summons the Cleric! Betrayal! Betrayal!" Already a Barbarian rode the Wizard down, one swoop of his mace ending the spell and the Wizard both. Some gathered to turn the corpse, strangely burned, but the Wizards were distraught to see the face of their Elite, his own crystal glass still clutched in both hands. The Barbarian spat on the ground and sped away as the rest of the Wizards stared in dismay.

Aparal Forge has been lynched. He was Miracle Max, the Elite Wizard, and LinearPhilosopher.

It is now Night 2. Resolution underway.

I've only just realised that scenes have been added. This does sound as if something happened to Aparal, unless it's just poetic license.

It sounded like a DnD themed lynch scene to me.

This is the great Joseph Weil. Listen to me for what I have to say is of the utmost importance. There is are shadows in the night that do not belong to us. There are features in the light that do. Bones that creak are old and speak. While some hounds scamper and play ,some sit out and bay. Things are what they seem yet not at all what they appear. Those who look for something for nothing will instead only find nothing for something.

At least make your mind up what name you are using.

Standard 3-way faction play is to pick off the first faction to suffer a loss whilst scheming to back-stab your temporary allies (probably with the assistance of the few remaining much reduced faction.) So I think an alliance is a sensible and an obvious thing to be suggesting and has no doubt been in the mind of each member of both factions. And in the mind of Wizards too as they know they're weakened.

Assuming I don't fall asleep shortly I said I'd try and show my face at a funeral this morning which means my sleep patterns are going to be even more out of kilter than usual, therefore I don't really expect to be back before timeout but there is a chance.

I suspect that given how the lynch train swung away from Gait before (someone should really look into that for more Wizards) I'm going to be in a bit of a rage tonight - either at getting lynched or at it deflecting elsewhere :)

With his reveal you already know that Gait has been targeted by night actions and his health will be low anyway.
You've seen conjured elementals, and a possible dominate ability from the Wizards but nothing lethal. Their abilities look more like self preservation than anything else. Whereas Togg is admitting to having lethal attack powers. You're advocating keeping someone who has claimed a night kill over someone that hasn't shown such capabilities.

You look like you're siding with Togg.

So you either believe me when I say he dominated aparal or you believe him that he attacked 2 alts each night killing one and injuring the other, and if you believe him then Gait is at deaths door anyway whereas you don't know what sort of protective powers Togg has.

Oh, you're a slippery one, Hood.

The fact that's bugging me is that the Wizards tried to deflect so desperately so early, in an effort including multiple players (I think) and spending multiple of conjured elementals. Wonder why they deemed that necessary on D1?

Moreover, aren't you downplaying the Wizards' abilities a bit?

Are you saying that Wizards aren't just cuddly teddy bears who want to be friends with people.
