So I have finally got enough time to jump back in to Malazan since I had fallen spectacularly behind but now I am half way through Toll the Hounds. But before I started reading again I had a quick gander at some of the Malazan wikis to remind myself of who some of the characters are (but not too deep so I didn't spoil my self for future books). Anyway on the Malazan Wiki Rud Elalle's race is stated as half Human and Half Tiste Andii Soletaken Eleint and in encyclopediamalazica it's Human Soletaken Eleint. But aren't both of these inaccurate? Rud's mother was Menandore and she is the daughter of Osseric so wouldn't that make him a half Human half Tiste Liosan Soletaken Eleint?

Also I know awhile back people were wondering if L'oric the son of Osseric was Eleint Soletaken as well since he kind of should be. But I had a thought, L'oric is an idealist and he doesn't seem to enjoy violence, and whenever he has used his magic it's always seems to be in a healing or defensive manner so I think L'oric would try and suppress his Eleint nature as much as possible since as we know from Silchas Ruin's comments being in dragon form makes you more violent and harder to control.

Well Menandore is the daughter of Osseric and Tiam so that makes her Liosan, right? Also going by her description in MT she must be:

Also I think Tiam is only mother in the sense of her dragon blood as mentioned on wiki.

When it comes to the ascendants the lines tend to get a little blurry. I don't think it is really wrong to consider her Liosan (I certainly do not consider her Andii), but I always thought of her as Edur, but mainly because she was described within a set of sisters within the Edur's mythology.

Also, do not put much faith as to who any of the Tiste soletaken ascendants parents are described as being. Can't say much more as you are not done reading.

True she was part of the Edur pantheon but she wasn't really worshipped as such, more like reviled as a devil-like figure. And that kind of makes sense of how the Edur would see a Liosan god.

Also Rud's appearance sure does conjure images of Liosan heritage over any other Tiste race:
