That's taking it completely literally on the shrouds (did we see Joffrey have one? Seem to remember Myrcella did)- more generally, her kids die before her. I wasn't necessarily meaning that she'd deliberately act to kill him, more that her actions in some way could result in it. Maybe losing Tommen is the final straw that completely pushes her into "burn them all" territory.

We've seen the Mountain act independently with the guy mouthing off about Cersei - she couldn't have directly ordered him when she wasn't there - maybe a scenario with the High Sparrow where Mountain interprets both he and Tommen as a threat to Cersei? I'm guessing completely.

Or for Littlefinger.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Tommen will be a suicide.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

I'm on season 4 ep 2 in my rewatch. Many of Bran's visions from "The Door" were originally seen in that episode, when he touched a weirwood and saw the 3ER raven who told him where to go to find him.

In that episode Bran also saw the burned-out throne room that Dany saw at the House of the Undying. If it's Dany flying over the city, then Cersei can't have burned the whole thing down. And the Sept is halfway across the city from the Red Keep.

This episode...huh. I'm fine with the Cleganebowl hype killer, after all it doesn't mean we won't still get a showdown at some point. And even if we don't, that was a logical progression for the High Sparrow.

Blackfish dying off screen? Didn't bother me that much. But when coupled with the Waif dying off screen, uh, really? Especially since last episode made Arya look like an idiot with her throwing all caution to the wind after abandoning the Faceless Men, who are supposed to be the most skilled assassins out there. But the show makes them look like a joke. And then there was that stupid terminator scene...

I feel like it would have been a lot better to cut out the Arya stupidity and go straight to a fight with the Waif in the dark, Arya didn't need to be stabbed like that. It took all tension out of what followed (not that her dying was likely, but after getting stabbed with a 4 inch knife last episode we all knew she was going to be alright in this one). So...meh.

Next episode should be great, though.
uhm, that should be 'stuff.' My stiff is never nihilistic.

In the show the Waif is an acolyte, not truly one of the Faceless Men yet. She is obviously skilled but I don't think she is supposed to represent the skills of a fully trained FM assassin. That's Jaqen.
I didn't mind her dying off screen either; there was supposed to be some suspense when Jaqen looked to see whose face had been added to the Hall. I mean, this is Game of Thrones. Arya was never guaranteed to succeed, and the FM could have done all sorts of interesting things with her face.

Imo they did slip up with the stabby bit - she's only small, she got gut stabbed multiple times, and thrown in a dirty river. I wanted another explanation there as watching that, I was thinking that's it, she's dead. You don't just sew up the top of a stab wound and make it all better.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

She died. The actress was a red witch who brought her back.

For the time period multiple stab wounds to the gut would be lethal. We are talking about partially digested fecal matter leaking into your thoracic cavity. That's not including a dump into a sewer canal.

The actress is without question a witch

Gut stabs and gut shots were the worst wounds you could get - painful and leading to a slow agony from peritonitis. Which the waif chose on purpose for that reason. I wish that whole story arc had been resolved in any number of better ways.

I would say this would have been fine if Arya's training had been handled better throughout the season. Clearly the Faceless Men have minor supernatural powers. It's very possible some could have been imparted to Arya during her training. Maybe invest a little on-screen time into that element of her perpetual montage -- including actual instruction from Jaqen -- instead of repeated practice duels with the Waif, who had no particular interest in helping Arya get better. Jaqen could have kept all of his mystery and other-worldliness and still played a closer teaching role w/ Arya.

So what you are saying is that the show with dragons and magic and ice zombies and wolves the size of horses is being unrealistic?

Reminds me of a joke about Harry Potter.

Magic, I can believe in. Kids going to a school to be witches and wizards I can believe in. An evil dark wizard intent on slavery and Twitter, no problem. But a ginger kid having two friends? Nope, unbelievable.

My favourite character this episode was the Hound, in glad he's back in it. I know people think the Greyjoys will destroy the Masters fleet but I assumed Drogon would do most of that...

That is my assumption too. Maybe the other dragons will come out and take part, but I wouldn't think it necessary.

This is kind of becoming obvious but I doubt Dany will do any conquering with her Dothraki. She won't need to; the Red Keep will be destroyed and the heir to Tommen will be obscure and likely the last thing on anyone's minds at that point. Bran will lead the Others past the Wall and the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch will be the only leader worth mentioning by the time Dany arrives.

Eventually the Dothraki would be like the First Men or the Andals--an invading force that becomes a permanent cultural facet of Westeros, to one degree or another. Arm them with dragonglass, and they're a formidable opponent against the Others. Dany was born on Dragonstone; we can hope she will land there and find whoever Stannis sent to mine the stuff hard at work.

Why do you think Bran will lead the Others?

I don't mean lead as in he will be their leader. I'm just talking about his mark from the Night King which apparently nullifies the magic that wards against the Others. Most people seem to think that once Bran passes through the Wall, the Others will be able to pass through too. And it makes sense; we know they have to threaten the realm at some point.
