I kept wondering if Ian McShane was building a giant wicker dog and they were going to burn Sandor in it at the end. That would have been awesome.

It was either a wind mill or a church, imho.

Probably not, because as with everyone, I'm holding out for that walk of atonement.

Give it up, Maark, you're not going to see Natalie Dormer nude anymore. That plot twist has sailed.

My missus watched The Tudors. I've already seen that.

She got naked for Renly in season 2.

Must watch season 2 again ... and the Tudors

I skipped a bit, but don't any theories of Jaquen being Arya completely die on the fact he's notably bigger than she is? I mean, they wear faces not carve their bones down and cut fat away.

Any chance Waif was actually Arya and Arya was actually Waif?

P.S. Where DID they get Arya's face from before? If they can just MAKE them then Christ, stop killing people for their faces and open a mask shop.

The Tudors was fantastic but you gotta except that Henry VIII mostly is shown as a sexy figure vs the RL fat stinky fuck he's reported to have been.

It's a shame they couldn't have at least attempted a redhead look. Henry was only fat and stinky when his leg became debilitating in his later life - for the most of it, he was strong, athletic and fit. I've stood in front of his armour - the man was enormous.

I thought the Tudors did pretty well with him as far as temperament and actions went; they unfortunately made no attempt to make him resemble the familiar images of him. The man's sex drive probably wasn't all that exaggerated either from the existing evidence (and the lengths he went to get into Anne Boleyn).

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The faceless men can glamor their faces into any face, I think the books imply they only swap they faces with dead gave when they have to infiltrate a place that is a added against magic. For example storms end is Warded, the typical glamor would not survive maybe but the face swap is more permanent and Hardee to detect. The books also shown it to be a much more complicated procedure then the TV show where they just rip them off one after the other.

I just rewatched the bit with Tyrion's marriage to Sansa. When Joffrey was threatening to rape Sansa (assuming Tyrion couldn't do the job and get her pregnant), I was reminded of the Aerys-Joanna stories. Then I realized that, if my Impotent Tywin theory were true, Joffrey would be Aerys's grandson.

Here is a pretty great theory about Arya/the Waif/etc. It kind of follows what people have been saying here tbh. :)

Interesting theory. I've thought that the players are going to be Arya's future ever since they were introduced. They were just introduced too purposefully to be a throw away gimmick like that.

I also think that this gives a lot more meaning to the scene with Arya and Jaqen about her list. Hmm, she names people and then is sent to kill someone imitating the name that tops her list... coincidence? Not in Westeros.

Looks like Occam's Razor won out for Arya after all. Don't know what to make of Jaqen's reaction though.

The appearance of Beric makes Stoneheart very unlikely. She's been dead too long. In the books, it was Beric who gave her his life. Of course, there's always the possibility that Thoros just resurrected her himself, but it's starting to look like the dark turn of the Brotherhood was just the showrunners trolling us again. I mean, do these guys have any self-respect whatsoever?

Predictions: Before the end of the season, Tommen will die and Tyrion will ride a dragon. At least one of those will happen. Hopefully both.

Liked the Hound's story tonight. Its moving in a fun direction for him. He also gets the best lines.
Beric still around so looks like no Lady Stoneheart anytime soon.
Glad Arya wrapped that up. The Waifinator was getting old.
RIP Blackfish, so that storyline was a complete filler piece saved only but Bronn n Pod's scene.
Oh hey Dany's back. Cool. Can we go back to the drinking game now please?

RIP:

Blackfish
Waif
Lem Lemoncloak
Lady Crane
Edmure's last shred of dignity

Did I miss anyone? Aside from unnamed people, of course. (Lem counts.)

Dear god, r/asoiaf is having a huge fucking pity party right now. They HATED this episode. (For the most part.) No Stoneheart, no Cleganebowl, and no Waif=Jaqen=Arya=Whatever. They're losing their shit.

Season 6 ... where fan theories go to die.

Yeah, no Stoneheart after all. And Arya wins through with no grander scheme yet. Still could be a later reveal that they never expected her to stay, but for the moment it stays simple.

Betting Varys heads to Dorne and that is how they bring them back in to the story.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

This was the weakest one of the bunch, IMO.

A bunch of awkward scenes. Bronn's over-written humour, the prolonged nothing scenes in Meereen... important deaths occurring off screen for some reason. Most of all, the WASTE of Arya's storyline. As I said last week, they completely dropped the tension of having a faceless person chasing a beloved character through a city. She can have ANYONE'S face, but whatevs... let's have her chase Arya down in the streets. Are these people ninjas or what? Are they cutting people's faces off mid-street? Wouldn't everyone know of and hate their damn temple if this was the case? Everything during the Waifinator chase scene could have occurred in the last episode without the one-night stay at the actress's hovel and we would have at least kept tension. Also: Arya: "It's not safe for me to join you." Seconds later woman dies because it's 50x less safe RIGHT NOW. Ugh. Then her "I'm so cool" ending. Could have been so much better.

First scene that really disappointed me all season. Epiosdes 3,4,5 and 7 were so good. 6 too, sure. This had plenty soft spots. Thank goodness for Cersei and The Mountain. Plus Jaime v. Edmure scene was pretty good. Old school GoT. People TALKING to each other and brandying about metaphors a little.

P.S. I agree the Greyjoys vs. the Masters ships will be an epic naval battle next episode, ala Blackwater. Drogon (and the others) will no doubt burn a few as well. Until Quentin in B5, 'Yara' and Theon will actually have something to offer Dany to make their political union sensible.

He's never actually wanted her to be him or another Waif. All he wanted was a Stark with murder skills. He'll point her to the Night's King and be happy.

The question of why Jaime chose now to threaten Edmure's kid is gonna get shoved under the rug, but that was kinda smashing together way too many scenes into one short period of time.

Eh, it's TV.

Edmure ruined this episode for me. Jaime decides to threaten a wife he hadn't seen since his wedding night and a son he's never met - who, by the way, are direct blood relations to the man who was responsible for betraying and murdering every family member Edmure had with the exception of his Uncle? The Uncle that he betrays here... How could we possibly buy the motivations he was given here? There is no way in hell he could have developed a familial bond that trumps his Tully loyalty.

Fuck that entire story.

No way. If I had a baby, I'd let everyone else who's ever been nice to me get slowly lowered into lava to save it.

Anyway, I liked the episode but thought a lot of the direction was wonky -- including but not limited to the Waifinator. The director was the same dude who did "Sons of the Harpy" last season and I think he just might be terrible at action scenes. Like for that reason alone I'm glad we didn't have to watch the sword duels on screen. They should stop having him back.
