I know it's just for the sake of argument, but the only reason Dany even needed ships was to get her army across the ocean. She hardly needs them for battle.

Mostly Agreed (although Naval battle needs those trained to fight at sea, and Dothraki and Unsullied hardly qualify)

But I was not saying they are needed, simply that the person I replied to tallied the Iron islands as a potential 50-50 split between the sides. And it is probably more like 90-10 at best, but the 90 won't necessarily side with Cersei.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

We already saw one naval battle where Dany had no ships. She didn't need them.

Since Asha got to Dany first, maybe Euron will try to marry Cersei instead. They'd be a good couple.

Maybe, but I find it much more likely that Euron will simply raid without allegiance to either, or maybe even try a dragonjack.

I also think the wall is coming down, but I think it has to involve the horn as well as Bran's journey, so I'm not quite sure how that's gonna play out. Who's gonna blow the horn? But after that, I'm guessing that once you take out the White Walkers, the magic sustaining the undead ceases to be. I can just see a wide shot of thousands of zombies all dropping at once, something like that. There's other ways to do it I suppose, especially if you have dragons, but I can't imagine zombie cleanup is as satisfying a climax as focusing on the Night's King et al.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

There's also a plot device in the show that isn't in the books, at least yet: Bran might negate the magic at the Wall when he passes through it. I dunno if that would cause the Wall to actually fall, but it would let the Walkers and the wights through.

And we could blame Bran again

Interesting bit from ComicCon. They asked all the attending cast/crew who they thought would end up on the Iron Throne.

Quote

Conleth Hill (Lord Varys): “I know, but I can’t say.”

So, why did they tell him? Now I'm thinking Varys really will end up on the throne. He hinted early in the show that he was actually interested in that. Seems out of character, but maybe not.

He might have just tried to answer in character; Varys knows all. I'm not going to read too much into this, but it's interesting.

I think that's just the actor staying in character. Given Westeros' power structures there's no way a pudgy eunuch with no ancestral ties to the throne or a noble family could rule. Could he take the throne? Yes, but he would not stay on it for long.

Besides I believe they have given out fake scripts to the actors before to keep twists a secret.

My guess would be that Daenarys becomes Queen/Empress, marries John Snow or Bran and since she's incapable of bearing children, they adopt somebody that can carry on the bloodline. Probably not Tyrion, all though I would find that hilarious.

Ummmmmmmmmmm excuse me but in season 3 episode 5 entitled "And Now His Watch Is Ended" Daenerys helps free from slavery and thus captures the loyalty of 8,000 Unsullied who join her personal army, so technically the line should be "And the tremors of 16,000 feet". *pushes glasses up nose*

Well technically, the vibrations of the Unsullied walking, would be caused by every single step. Since people only take one step at a time, raising and lowering one foot after another, technically it was only the tremors of 8,000 feet at any given time.

Technically Tyrion is still married to Sansa. If they were looking for a way to unite the North and the Lannisters/King's Landing, there it is.

I can't see Dany marrying Littlefinger or 'make em fly!' kid to gain the Vale. Dorne seems to be all out of male heirs, the Iron Islands too.. actually, so are the Tyrells and all three of those factions are already onside. It really only leaves Jon Snow and his own Targaryen background would back that up.

Or they decide to end it without Jon marrying his aunt.

Actually it wouldn't surprise me if Dany dies by the end. A return to Targaryen rule would be a backwards step in 7K and I can't see the show or GRMM going that route for the ultimate resolution of the story.

In my opinion Jon marrying Dany would be strange. Not only the incest, I would also miss a final twist.
Dany dying is also a possibility. I guess someone of the main cast has to die for the bittersweet ending. Maybe the dragons as well. (Giants, children of the forest, direwolfs, everything is dying out)

I like where you and Abyss are going with this.

You die, she dies, everybody dies.

Not reading the other posts, cause i'm still watching, but: omg, ep 5, the door reveals the origin of Hodors name: that was pretty cool, after 6 seasons. Wonder if grrm made that up when he was writing the first book.
