Over the years of my growing obsession I've searched for and actual list of deaths or a believable number to work with. Obviously I have been unsuccessful thus far.... and this bothers me.. a lot. I've decided to take things into my own hands. I plan to be very thorough in my investigation and death toll collection so this will take a while and I welcome all the help I can get.

A few things I intend to include:

Names whenever available
Book location of deaths
Cause if provided
If there are death and resurrection issues they will be accounted for
DRAGNIPUR
Ascension
Mass deaths and race extinction
That beef between Imass and Jaghut
Whatever happened with Forkrul Assail and the K'Chain Che'Malle
Etc etc..

Nice, this sounds like a good idea! I bet Egwene would love to have this on the wiki when you get it to a nice state.

You know me too well, Wisperzzzzzz :harhar:

Yes, sounds like an interesting idea. Have you checked out the Wiki, Matrim? Don't know if you saw, but I did quite a bit of 'who died' research for the Last Siege of Y'Ghatan. If you look at the page for the 14th Army, you'll see how far I got. Trying to work out who made it as far as Letheras is on my to-do list but it may be a while before I get round to it.

Ok I'm going through that to use as a starting point when I get to that book so I hope you don't mind. Keep me posted on any other progress you make and (again if you don't mind) I will use it as a base and add all of the other information that I am planning to pull together as well as site locations of it all and (if I don't die before I finish lol) I want to cross ref everything (even if I don't share that convoluted mess with the world I still need a physical manifestation of the death toll and plots that caused them. I personally think it will be great to sit and look at "Hood's Web" and follow plots that span births and deaths of entire realms/holds/warrens over countless millennia)

Lol bc big numbers are cool yea?

That's the death count? Jeeze. I'm curious how you came up with that number?

Pale
18,739 citizen lives claimed by the Black Moranth. Number confirmed Ch8,p191
1,365-1,370 Bridgeburners lost in tunnel collapse according to Sorry
Ch2,p64
Mages Calot, Nightchill and A'Karonys
Ch2,p72
7,635 soldiers died to Rake's Kurald Galain sorcery
Ch2,p71

Should I include pale wizards, guards killed by Gear, people killed by Sorry or unsuccessful assassin's deaths? Lol

Does it still really count if someone is only believed dead, but is not actually dead?

EDIT: I guess in a series like this, it's tough to ever really know if anyone is dead unless we see it (and not always even then).

To quote Lovecraft: That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons, even death may die.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Lovecraft would find something creepy in a cup of vanilla ice cream. You can't rely on him!

Obligatory reference to Kruppism.

Number reduces to 1, for all are Kruppe in the eyes of the Kruppe.
