After giving this show a try when S1 first dropped and not getting hooked (I only gave it like 15 minutes...), I decided to give it another try after skimming the hype in this thread. I'm now midway through S01E03, and I'm digging it. It sort of feels like what I'd imagine the lovechild of LOST, Fringe, and the comic series Rising Stars* would be.

(*This makes sense, as JMS wrote Rising Stars.)

EDIT: Still not getting the Babylon 5 sci-fi vibe I was hoping for, but I don't really expect that to happen in this show :wallbash:

I powered through series 2 in a couple of days after I realised it was up on Netflix, damn this show is good. Really not looking forward to such a long wait for series 3, but this is the price we pay for the Netflix binge era I guess :/

But yeah this series was better than 1 in every way and 1 wasn't exactly bad at all! As BK says above, I think the world building worked very well and was definitely needed to expand upon series 1, which created and ran with a very cool concept but had a very narrow focus. The fight scenes are great as well I agree, not sure I'd go quite as far as to say they're the best ever but damn if they're not great.

Was up visiting my mum and brothers recently, while I was there I opened my profile on my mum's Netflix account that I use, looking for something to watch, and obviously Sense8 comes up in the recently watched. My mum looked up and was like, 'oh is that a new series', I was like, 'you've seen Sense8 then?' Cue hilarious and awkward conversation skirting around the prevalent orgy scenes :wallbash:

Random question, can anyone think of another show where a main character has spent as significant a percentage of their scenes in their underwear as Sun?

FUCK!

Goddamit, this was easily one of my favourite shows. And it was really ramping up the world building in S2.

Fuck, fuck, fuck!

More people can watch it. That usually does the trick. There must not have been enough eyes viewing it when it came out for them to pay for a third season.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Ugh. I'm only 6 episodes in.

Might as well just stop watching now.

No, even though it's ending...still VERY worth it.

Meh, I can't say I expected it but I'm not surprised either. It wouldn't be a good show if it wasn't cancelled before its time.

It's a real shame though; I've gotten way too invested in the characters.

I'm wondering if because it's the Wahcowski's, Tom Tykwer, and Straczinski that made this... if this might get pushed into a movie for a final chapter that closes off the story?

That would be sweet.

But yeah, this is a way bigger tragedy form a cultural standpoint than say FIREFLY that everyone complains was gone too soon. This show is about a thousand times better and more relevant.

The only other show I can think of that is pushing even CLOSE to these same media boundaries is MASTER OF NONE.

But yeah, I agree BK, the people who didn't watch this are probably going to watch it now and realize how utterly fantastic it was...too late.

Keep going. The more ratings they see the more likely to realize they completely fucked up. With that in mind though know that this show is going to yank your feels big time and now the show ends on completely shitty cliffhanger note.

I was kidding — I'm definitely going to keep watching. But, I'll start watching on Netflix instead of downloading it...just in case that helps.

Yep. My wife and I were watching S2 Ep7 last night and she turned to me after a kickass Wolfgang moment which we both fist-pumped...and said "I love this show. I'm furious they fucking cancelled it!"

Watching S01E07.

I hope Bug is more than just a one-and-done part. Just from his first scene, I find his character hilarious.

Still. Fucking. Furious.

Also, the petition to get it back is almost at half a million signatures. Crazy!

Oh, and there are a sect of people who are setting to cancel their Netflix subscriptions at 8:08PM tonight (on June 8th) to send Netflix a message that this is not cool.

Honestly, I'd just love for the Netflix people to realize that this show has a MUCH larger following than they assumed, and that it's SUPER fucking important not only to a global mindset but for diversity and representation...and that it COULD be a flagship show for the network, like HoC or OITNB.

Either that or let it go so that the Wachowskis, Tykwer, and Starczynski can shop another season to another network.

Where is petition? I'd sign if I have an account. Shutting down accounts the day before OinB can be very interesting if the numbers are right. I hope they reverse this or give in and let them film and ending of sorts.

Here's the petition BK.

Netflix has responded.

They claim it's viewership VS high cost of episodes (100mil USD for Season 1) that made them pull the plug...and they aren't bringing it back.

Fuckity fuck.
