Anything multiplayer, I'm automatically out.

In this case that's not saying much, since I have virtually zero playtime in any Beth game (I started Morrowind once, but wasn't in the right head space for it at the time. The rest are in my backlog, somewhere.) Possibly next year I'll check out FO 3 and New Vegas (because it's Obsidian, and I generally like their work)

And I want to state that Ment has out-weaseled me by far in this game.

Zero interest. I don't care for multiplayer survival crafting games and I was underwhelmed by Fallout 4. If it gets great reviews and the content evolves over the next year I might check out out but there's so much else to play.

I poured a metric ton of time into Fallout 4, and played all of the expansions (Far Harbor and Nuka World). I had a ton of fun playing it too. Fallout 4 was the first Fallout game I played so maybe I didn't have the perspective of how awesome Fallout 3 and New Vegas were? (I've read shining comments/reviews about New Vegas).

Anyway, I tend to agree. I'm not with the idea that Fallout 76 is hanging its hat on being multiplayer and not having a lot of single player activities. Although they do say you can traverse the world and do things by yourself.

It reminds me of The Elder Scrolls Online. I loved Skyrim, but didn't have any interest whatsoever in ESO. So unless it gets excellent reviews, I doubt Fallout 76 will be something I play.

Pretty much this. Played the hell out of 4 (and fyi 3 and New Vegas still hold up very well and are still worth playing), but don't have any interest in multi-player stuff like this. Maybe if i had more friends who played, and we didnt all have wives, kids, and careers and could actually play together i might. But like ESO, hard pass.

Has anyone actually tried 76?

I've heard it can still be fun going solo. Anybody?

Haven't played it, and don't plan on it myself (have seen too many videos and reviews that hate on it big time). I have watched a few neat videos that show the results of nuking various places on the map (usually some form of a big bad beastie spawns, or a high number of the highest level of other forms spawn, with the possibility of rare loot if you make it through).

I've read a lot of back and forth on this.

Basically, there are apparently some moderately interesting bits of environmental storytelling/ questslines (without any NPCs, though, except for some robots).

There are still plenty of graphical glitches, and the game's look overall is gonna be decidedly "not next gen" . VATS doesn't work. progression system will steer you towards microtransactions for cosmetics (if that's your thing)

But if you just want a post-apoc map to wander in, I think it's kinda working now? I also hear it costs like a 20

Everything I've read tells me that Fallout 76 feels like they built the world but forgot to put in quests/lore/storytelling at the end. So that's a hard pass for me.

In Germany, you can buy an Xbox One X Fallout 76 bundle and they will include a copy of Fallout 76 with it. Posted Image

Daaang.

I'll just sate my Fallout craving by re-playing 4 as an asshole female rocket launching power armor badass.

If you haven't played Fallout 4 DLC, I recommend them. Especially Far Harbor. The story is really tight and fascinating.

Even after I played all the DLC and thought I had discovered every place on the map, I still found areas that were new to me. Also, I never got too into the settlement building and connecting them for supply distribution networks, but that could be something to explore if you haven't put much time into it. I always found the building aspect too tedious myself, so never really progressed much in that area/aspect of the game. I guess if you're a Minecraft sort (which I'm not), it's something that might scratch that itch, so to speak.
