My big thing is that if Apocalypse can vaporize a city around him and rebuild it... why doesn't he vaporize the X-Men?

That thought kept occurring to me as well. Internally it makes no sense at all. Best guess, he wanted to turn them to his side since he considers all mutants his children?

I saw it last week, it pleasantly wasted a couple hours of my time, and I enjoyed it. Is it as good as DoFP? No. Was it entertaining? Sure, if not a little bit slow at times. Once I got home I honestly stopped thinking about it. But perhaps I was spoiled by Captain America: Civil War and the personal stakes in that movie. That movie set hero against hero and did it well, because we didn't want them to fight. This movie set hero against hero(anti-hero) and it just felt kinda...meh. I mean,
Spoiler

Loved Nightcrawler though.
