Need a bit of help again.

On the Wiki we have articles on Meanas, Shadow and Kurald Emurlahn. I am sure the wording contains inaccuracies but don't have references to put alternatives in place.

It would be great if everyone could take a look at these pages and between us we could revise them to something more accurate.

Thanks in advance :D

The relationship between Shadow as a realm, various warrens, and as a high house in the deck of dragons is somewhat murky and convoluted, so I have no idea how you'd keep it simple enough for a wiki entry.

Spoilers abound below.

Kurald Emurlahn is the elder warren of shadow. Ancient home of the Tiste Edur was the original impression we got, but as per Forge of Darkness this does not look entirely accurate. In FoD you have Kurald Galain (to that point, a location, not a warren), and you get a gate for it as it is becoming a hold/elder warren. Presumably as the tiste war happens we will get yet more gates, and some of that territory will become Kurald Thyrllan and some of it Kurald Emurlahn. How long it is actually their 'home' before it becomes sundered is an open question, because it becomes sundered before Silchas and Scabandar leave their elder warrens and attack the K'Chain for a place on 'Wu'.

I think the description of the warren fragments is fairly good.

Shadow as a high house doesn't seem to be associated strictly with a single warren (likely due to the above mentioned shattering). Shadowthrone is not the god of Meanas, per se, but Meanas is described as a warren of shadow. He takes the throne of shadow and becomes the king of high house shadow (and Cotillion becomes 'the Rope', also part of the high house).

However, Rashan also enters the conversation. In some places it is referred to more as a warren of darkness, but it is not true darkness and is continually associated with shadow. Ben Delat was high priest of a cult of Rashan, not Meanas, but that somehow qualified his as being in Shadowthrone's priesthood in GotM.

So Shadowthrone's supposed authority doesn't seem limited or directly tied to Meanas. Dancer (the Rope pre-ascension) and Lostara Yil are also associated with Rashan, and shadow dancing with the cult of Rashan.

To me, the throne (and the high house position) are associated more with the elemental concept of shadow than a particular warren. Or its associated with the Elder Warren, and then that becomes a bunch of different warrens and fragments all of which Shadowthrone has some say over.

Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Shadow is definitely a bit shadowy! Thanks for your help, Nevyn.
