I think so also. Lots of people just at aren't digging a legit Saul. It's going to be great seeing his fall. Did you make it to the Mike main epi Abyss? SO GOOD!

Dunno. I never went back to TWD and half the world seems to be watching that now.
I'm not saying there is no way i will ever watch it, but i suspect it's going to take a critically acclaimed second season before i go back and bother.

At root, this is a 'lawyer tries to be good person, isn't' (see that Shatner/Spader show, among others), and that just doesn't draw me in.

I admit to being tempted to watch the Mike ep even so, just because that's a great actor playing a great character.

I would just watch the ep for some of the back story of Mike, it is a quality ep!

Agreed. Seems like we share the same view on the series as a whole overall, Abyss, and I still loved the Mike episode on its own merit, so I think you'd dig it too.

How do you rape a cave? Do you ask, "You want to fuck, yes?" hear the echo come back, "Yes... es... es..." and get your barnacle-gouged groove on?

The last two episodes were brilliant. I almost feel bad for people who bailed already.

Oh snap! The guy who Mike took the guns from is the actor (Steven Ogg) who voices Trevor on GTA V. One of the most memorable video game characters ever! Heh, and the big guy running away at the end of that scene was hilarious. Man, Mike's got an icy menace to his demeanor. I would never mess with him, even though he is elderly.Posted Image

Man, you can see Jimmy (Saul's) decent into criminal side of lawyering after this episode. Screw you Chuck!

Man, guys. This is one of the best written shows on television right now. Y'all are missing out it you aint watchin'. Man, I'm bummed there is only one episode of this season left.

Last week's episode--particularly just the stellar scene with Chuck at the end, so perfectly written, perfectly executed by two actors at the top of their game, massive "punch in the gut" factor that was still incredibly subtle and realistic--clinched it for me, and I'm bought in.

Also, had a blast last night randomly rewatching two Saul/Mike heavy episodes from Breaking Bad. Once Better Call Saul is done as a series, how sweet will it be to line it up right next to Breaking Bad and just mainline them all at once?

...and that's season 1.

It's good, even great here and there, but it's hard not to keep measuring this against Breaking Bad, and it really suffers for that. I'm in for S2, but they need to raise their game.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Season finale was a bit disappointing after the especially potent last two episodes.

Agreed, the finale seems uncharacteristically ham fisted for the writers of these series. I get they wanted to end the season with that final scene, but there were surely better ways to get there.

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic season finale, up there with the best.

Heh, Jimmy explains the Chicago Sunroof to the retirement home. Posted Image

Slippin Jimmy at 100%. Yes! The ending was frigging awesome! Next season should be off the chain bonkers. Dammit, I wish season 2 would start next week! flip it all!

Oh, and guys, don't give yourselves too much heart-burn trying to compare this show to Breaking Bad. Just be content in knowing you are watching a show that is better then 90% of anything out there right now, kay? Posted Image

100%. I was hoping for Saul this season, because Janes McGill is boring as fuck.

This returns Monday. I really enjoyed seasons 1 and 2 (man, Saul's brother is a dick).

Could we possibly see the first meeting of Mike and Gus Fring? And slippin Jimmy McGill reach his breaking point and fully embrace the persona that reveals to the world Saul Goodman in all his glorious scum-baggery? ("breaking point" <<< heh, see what I did there? Posted Image)

Uh no. In two seasons BCS has already blasted BB out of the water.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Ok, I am three episodes in to the latest season now. Damn, Mike is a friggin genius! Man, I'd hate to be on his bad side.

And really enjoying Jimmy's string of bad luck, knowing that it is shaping the person he becomes. Chuck is a dick!
