How is everybody's summer going? I imagine folks are away considering the pace of the game at present!
Mine's hella busy. No time for anything. Play hard on weekends, work hard all week. I've taken up jogging so I'm in shape and will be able to keep up with both kids in a few years' time. Weekends have been booked solid with activities. I hate to say it, but winter is so much more relaxing!
Fuck it though, if you're not going all-out in the summer you're doing it wrong IMO.

It's been a pretty good summer thus far - UK's been hotter than for years, I've got my travelling around out of the way now, so just working on the various things I need to do. Uni doesn't start up again till October, so I have a while to just focus on my research - unfortunately, I also promised I'd do a half-dozen other things as well...need to learn to start saying no.
Girlfriend busted her knee while dancing to Gangnam Style at a wedding the other week, so she's been spending a lot of time at home, as has her sister, who's a school teacher and so on summer holidays. They've been spending all day playing Civilisation Revolution against each other over Xbox Live - in separate rooms, shouting across the hallway at each other...I may need to start spending more time at the library

How's the sprog?

What!? You can play Civ Revolutions against over people?! I've beat that game as all 16 leaders on the hardest difficulty winning in each way possible but always against the AI. It's probably a good thing I gave the game back to my brother-in-law. Oh the time sink I would put into this otherwise....
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

You'd be a god to them, twelve. They've both tried playing against the AI on hardest difficulty and got their asses handed to them (over the course of six painful hours). But yeah, you can play over Live if you've got two copies, just invite the other person to a multiplayer match.

Yeah the hardest difficulty level usually is about a 60-40 proposition that I would succeed against the AI. It's all about the start. You have to have a good sized land mass with plenty of native/barbarian villages. Start off by switching to all material production until you have 3 warriors. Then redistribute your workers to focus mainly on science and food but have enough production to train an archer as soon as you have the appropriate tech. Those Warriors you trained should be sent out immediately after they are trained to start taking out barbarian villages so you get the gold to get the settler money bonus. If you get stuck on an island then you are fucked and might as well just start a new game.

Did a 6 player round of Eclipse this week-end. The Mechanema player gained a lot of early production, went for orbitals r 2 and ended up having all but two cubes out on the board at games end. Built 5 monoliths last round too.
He didn't win though as I grabbed cloacking device and wormhole generator on round 9 and carpet bombed his territories with fighters. Alas, the whole manouver required too many actions on my part so I wasn't ale to claim enough of the systems to win. Still, fun as always, this game, but then at least neither did he.

Does anyone want to take over my position in this game. I've lost interest. The pace is terrible.

I'm not sure what's happened. Gnaw was all set to go I think in our alliance convo but then didn't post a move.

super busy here too. I plain forgot about it to be honest.
I do want to see it through eventually -- shall we start poking players via PM again?

This is also invalid as that requires 5 power and you have only 3 on your starbase

SVG updated, I messed up and confused blend and gnaws orders, but the svg file is correct. I'll update the maps when CF and tatts submit there corrected orders.
