I think you need a history lesson. Trying to hit me early doors has never worked. I'm like Russia in winter - a cold, inhospitable region which will suck the life out of you. Gnaw tried it. CF tried it. They gained a little, and then lost a lot. And sure, sure, maybe afterwards I wasn't the world power I used to be, but it took them several rounds to recover, if they ever even arguably did.
So why don't you go play with your little ancient friends and I won't stomp all over you. Do you want to get stuck between me and the ancients? Because that's what will happen, should I deign to look your way.
Well, I guess the one game I've been part of with you, you weren't that spectacular.

I wouldn't need to ally with D'rek in order to move through her territory, I'd do it to keep her as a buffer between me and the right side of the board, so that I can concentrate on dealing with you and CF. If I'm allied with D'rek and I can concentrate on keeping you and CF occupied, she can concentrate on keeping Gnaw and Twelve in check.
And if anyone think that I wouldn't break the alliance if it benefited me, they're wrong. So I can understand and work with an alliance member who may break the alliance if it benefits them in the future.
The only other alliance I see as being potentially useful to me would be if you, CF and I allied and tried to take over the bottom half of the map (Tapper, Tatts, IH) while D'rek deals with Gnaw and Twelve and hopefully doesn't have the time to worry too much about us.
