This is an interesting position. I border (or almost border) on so many people, and I have the potential to accrue so much income and resources, but with each disc put down or used as an action costing so much it would take me until round 4 or 5 to actually influence and colonize all the spaces I want... and that's with only spending research on Advanced things but not military research. Naturally, no one is going to leave me alone that long. So do I try and scrap together resources and tech to resist, slowing my production gains? Or do I just try and colonize/influence as much as possible and let the systems that get attacked be destroyed? I guess there's a third option of trying to schmooz into an alliance so I don't face so many threats on all sides, too. Hmmmmm.
I'm on the fence right now about whether or not I want to suggest an alliance with you.
I figure if I've got your Ancient Highway protecting one side of my galaxies, I could flood through Khell's backdoor and potentially remove him as one of the thorns in your side. You'd still have a bunch of others to worry about, but I could still be a useful alliance member to have.
But then, there's the general rule of 'stomp D'rek and Twelve' which I should keep in mind. Hmmmmmmmmmm.....
If I don't ally with you, and don't go after Khell, I think I'm eventually going to want/need one or two of the hexes to the south of me that you currently have influenced.
Blend, my friend, it seems to me that every other post of yours over the last few pages has involved some variation of "going through Khell's territory."
I think you need a history lesson. Trying to hit me early doors has never worked. I'm like Russia in winter - a cold, inhospitable region which will suck the life out of you. Gnaw tried it. CF tried it. They gained a little, and then lost a lot. And sure, sure, maybe afterwards I wasn't the world power I used to be, but it took them several rounds to recover, if they ever even arguably did.
So why don't you go play with your little ancient friends and I won't stomp all over you. Do you want to get stuck between me and the ancients? Because that's what will happen, should I deign to look your way.
And what is this conversation I see between you and D'rek? That's who you're considering as your alliance partner? The person whose hexes you can't even pass through without having to fight something anyway? Moreover, someone who will always put their own chances of winning above the sacred AND sacrosanct bond of the alliance? Make no mistake, an alliance at this point would benefit D'rek far more than it would you.

Khell are you open to involvement with a smush d'rek early plan? You could easily take either one ancient hex with conifold hull on one of your cruisers.
I am currently amenable to many courses of action and have not ruled anything out. But for now...

Sorry Tatts my Magellan cousin, I know you wanted this. But my Magellan heart is, quite literally, made of stone.
