Maybe, maybe not.
Planta walling themselves off entirely from one neighbour and the Nebula slowing down the other side is good.
Orion having a clear path to the inner rings while their neighbours are a bit hung up on ancient hives/homeworlds (which Orion can potentially swoop in to grab instead) is good.
And you've just covered all three of your resources (sci planet, mat planet and +8 money discovery) so you're very set to get going on shrine building in your little corner, too.
As for me, two pretty good hexes so far, though far from the best. Got a little corner carved out, which is awesome, but on the other hand I almost would've preferred being able to harass Gnaw for reputation and a couple hexes. Khell already has +6 materials plus his colony ship ablities so I doubt he'll be someone I want to scuffle with. And already a lot of the ancients I would've liked to explore for more points never came out in the tier 2s or have been explored elsewhere where they will surely die.
Tapper, Tatts and Blend maybe not doing quite as great, but two turns is hardly a substantial setback - definitely still anyone's game right now.
