Either way I'm going to take the Tier 1 EXPLORE to the SE of Iota Persii.

CF Tier 1 Hex Roll: 1d7 1

Hex # 107

5 wormholes. not a good Orion hex. not good for everybody else that is.

CF, note that Tapper's 108 hex has not been oriented yet.

Provisional (I won't be online until tomorrow): explore the tier 1 hex, turning it away from the Orion tier 1 CF will undoubtedly want to get.
If a second provisional is required: explore the tier 2 between IH and myself, if open. If not, I will have to think.

Tapper just said to turn it away from the Tier 1 to the north of it, so I think if you turned it one click clockwise, he'd be happy with that.

I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that self-vote suiciding will forever be referred to as "pulling a JPK" now, aren't I? ~ JPK

He orientated so that you were closed off.

Yeah, what the heck. 1 tick counterclockwise -- match the non-wormhole side to the non-wormhole of the hex to the south. Influence please

So you're saying if I explore tier 2 now I don't get a 2nd draw?

Yes. There is only one tier II tile left.

The rulebook just says you "may turn 2 hexes and choose one, or discard both" without saying where those hexes must come from or any "if there is only one hex remaining you may only draw one".

Oh well. You should've left me the hive. Then I would've argued it more strenuously.

Bah, if I'd realised that IH had oriented his hex to block himself off from tier I, I might have oriented mine to face that tier I. I had thought there would be no point because IH was sure to explore that tier I before I got a chance to. Now D'rek will take it as I've cut myself off from it :p

Oh well, all part of a larger plan.

I've updated the draw post - you have a choice between 103 and 105

Don't you remember the hoops you and I jumped through to get just 24 hexes for game IV? the text files with codes so that I as mod wouldn't know what hexes were still available.

This is exactly how we did tier 1 and 2 that game as well.

Yes but the setup rules state that you randomly draw 12 tier II hexes for a 9 player game. Once the game has started If there is only one hex left in a pile you can't draw two because there aren't two. But I could be wrong too. I wonder if this issue has been discussed on boardgame geek or not.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
