Amazing images, Enaglio. Have you considered exhibiting any of them on the Wiki??? Especially Pust and his Mule - definitely my favourite one.

Hello out there in forum land. I have an idea for a new painting but I've hit a bit of a roadblock. I want to do a painting of Pores and Kindly but I feel like I need more of a description for them both. Right now I kinda picture Pores like Hawkeye from MASH and Kindly like a beefed up Col. Potter. Can anyone help with descriptions or even their home continent? Any help would be very well received. The scene I'm thinking of is Pores and Kindly and his combs.

Other than Kindly being mostly bald and having a rumbling voice, I can't find any description for either of them. As they were part of the Ashok Regiment, they were likely from Seven Cities. Pores calls Kindly 'the old bastard', not a reliable source of age, still...

I think of Kindly as a bald, middle eastern The Great Santini.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Just re-read the section at the end of House of Chains when they meet up with Tavore.

Both were unshaven, their hair long and matted - guess one could get round that by having Kindly mostly bald on top but still having some hair around the base.

It also states that Kindly is the elder of the two but nothing more specific.

So we're thinking that they are both from the Seven Cities. That is a helpful place to start from. Thanks for the help.

Iirc there's also some bits about Kindly in the Karsa section of HoC, I'd have to wait until I'm home to look it up, though.

I would be grateful for any help. I know that after Y'Ghatan, Pores' left hand is fused together and he has a burn where his torc was. That's about all I've got on descriptions for him. Other than Kindly being mostly bald that is. :p

There is, his squad's the one to apprehend Karsa after he escaped from Silgar the slavemaster the first time. Problem is that, at the time, Karsa is restrained by Ebron and cannot see any of the people talking, including Kindly and Pores. So no physical descriptions in that section. And subsequently Karsa and Kindly's squad embark on different ships.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

In Reaper's Gale, Kindly describes himself as 'having very little hair' and in the Bonehunters he is described as mostly bald, which makes his extensive comb collection a bit of a mystery. In DoD and the Crippled God he is also described as having thinning hair and a (nearly) bald scalp. His face is at one point described to 'consist entirely of pinched features'.

Pores had his left hand melted together in Y'Ghatan. He is at one point described as clean-shaven.

It is said on occasion that Kidly regarded Pores as a son, implying that they have a significant age gap (15-20 years or so).
