In any case, that looked pretty damn awesome. This show has really taken off. But I still feel there's something missing. Something vital. Something, with the introduction of Darth Vader, I really want to see.

Darth Vader is notorious for punishing his underlings with his force grip. I really want him to turn that on one of the inquisitors for their continued failures. Just because!

I can't remember back in ANH, was Leia skeptical of the force in general, or that there were any jedi remaining... or did they not really touch that? I feel Han thought it was a "hoakie religion" and not a real thing. (just because at least now she's seeing jedi run around in her lifetime before Luke/Ben).

Looking forward to the series resuming!!

Huh, turns out that Kylo Ren's crossguarded saber comes from an earlier Jedi design which we see Ezra wielding in green.

I read an article explaining that the cross guard saber is in fact an old design. It's actually less refined than a typical saber. They are actually exhaust vents, I guess when the blade bends back down. It was also put into theory that Kylo Ren wasn't fully trained so he hasn't mastered enough to make a refined saber. Which I guess also reflects in Ezra, even though he's already made a pretty ingenious stun gun/saber combo...

I was reading the reasons for this that Filoni gave to EW after the trailer dropped.

The Yoda design is purposely off because it is Ezra having a vision of Yoda in his mind. He's not a force ghost or anything like that. Therefore his brain has to make up what he would look like based only on descriptions given to him by either Ahsoka or Kanan (Jedi's who met Yoda)...so Filoni thought it was important to feature him with a design that was askew because Ezra would not know what he looked like in detail.

With regard to Anakin, the design is typical rounded Rebels (like the difference between TCW Tarkin and REBELS Tarkin for example; no hard angular edges and less of a painted facade to those aspects), but he's also missing his robe...and that's because Filoni says that capes and robes eat up HUGE portions of the budget, and since Vader CAN'T show up without his cape...the budget goes to him by default. So Anakin is left with a tight/training body suit thing in the hologram that Ahsoka shows Ezra.

Also, two outcomes for Ahsoka.

1. This was noted by someone else long ago...but I've come around to believing that Filoni & Co. could easily "go there"...I foresee the EXACT same scene as the end of ROTJ. The Emperor's throne room. Vader standing in front of Ahsoka telling her that she should turn to the dark side and stand at their sides. She says no, they fight, she NEARLY bests Vader...but the Emperor intervenes and force lightnings her...she suffers and asks Anakin for help...but he doesn't. He allows Palpatine to kill her VIA force Lightning. The emotional impact of which would affect him on a level that stays with him till ROTJ and his son in the same position...only this time he helps when asked. Filoni has said that the Emperor and Vader's short term goal with Ahsoka is that the Emperor has a hit list of surviving Jedi (Yoda and Obi-Wan high on it) and Palpatine feels that Ahsoka could lead them to those list Jedi.

2. Ahsoka not being a Jedi since the Clone Wars and basically telling Kanan that though she serves the Force and the Light, she is no Jedi means that she COULD very well survive through the OT without crossing the whole "Luke is the Last Jedi / hope for the galaxy" thing. She could end up being like Maz Kanata...she knows the Force but doesn't proscribe to that sect of it specifically or come down on a "side". If what occurs in REBELS is enough to disillusion her to fighting anymore, perhaps she went off to live in the outer rim and ignore politics?

I'm betting on #1. I will be horribly emotional when Ahsoka dies, but I do think she must die prior to ANH.

And I don't get it. The deal for the new DisXD channel Canada is done here and the other channel FamilyCHRGD is done and debuted too. (Rebels will run on the revised DisXD)

Hell, the Cdn XD website has Rebels up with a clip from the mid-season debut...but it's not on the schedule yet.
