I liked that Kevan has a bit more backbone on the show. In fact I liked all the changes from the books, and I think Sansa's reaction to Brienne was entirely sensible. The Meereen riot was a little on the nose, but what else can you do with that set? The Unsullied are still absolutely awesome to see in action.

I've watched all the leaked episodes, and so far I'm pretty happy with the direction the show is going. This season is still progressing a little slowly, but it's much better than the endless repetition of Dance.

About the only cut detail I really miss is the Greyjoy Uncles.

Glad they did, it makes him less useless. Also amped up the Cersei v Margarine conflict nicely.
Sansa had a solid badass face after Littlefinger gave his speech... Wondering whether we'll see her retake the North her own damn self.
Jon takes no fucks. Convenient how the guy he executed also happened to be the one who betrayed Eddard.
Arya is going to get annoying if she spends the entire time whining and getting beat down.

Much as I loved watching the eps early, I can't wait until next week's ep is done and I don't have to worry about spoilers any more. I only discuss the show on booknerd forums, so I never have to worry about book spoilers.

This. I'm not enjoying having to be super careful about it!

I'm now wondering if Littlefinger's lessons are going to backfire on him big time.. like with Sansa sticking a knife in his back once he gets her Winterfell.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I fucking HOPE SO.

Sansa turning into a power-player is one of those twists everyone has been calling for ages, but predictable or not, it would be so very very nice.

And then of course, after she's had the Boltons gutted and seized the North and told Stannis to go fuck himself with a flaming broadsword, Littlefinger will say the whole thing was part of his master plan and dance back to the Eyrie.

Well she's seen him ruthlessly off Sir Dontos and her Aunt.. in the name of a bigger scheme.

Would be good if she plays him until she's got what she wants, then kills him the same way he's been knocking people off the board.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Agreed. They're just skipping so much of the interminable setup or placeholder plotlines GRRM has trudged around in for years.

Yeah, I'm liking this too. It makes the show sizzle a little hotter in most storylines.

Im enjoying episodes where I'm not really sure what's happening next , especially the changes from series to tv. My wife, however, is all pissy. She doesn't like the change from the books from the use of a fake arya to using sansa instead.

Personally, I've dismissed all the theories about Jon Snow's parents that do not include Ned Stark as his father. Right before Ned and Jon part ways before Jon heads north for the wall and Ned and Robert head to Kings landing, Ned tells Jon 'you night not have my name, but you do have my blood.' This is when Jon was asking Ned about who his mother was, and Ned promised to tell him when next they met.

I suppose Ned could have said this if Jon had Stark blood from any Stark, but he would have said something like 'you have Stark blood,' in my opinion, if it wasn't Ned himself.

I could be wrong.

Agreed. Some really sound improvements going on as a result.

On Jon's parentage - I'm in completely the opposite camp to you Brujah. I don't think there's even a slight chance Ned is his father, but at some point everyone will be proved either right or wrong, and that's part of the fun for me.

Where I'm from, "my blood" could mean a cousin or an aunt. He's talking about his sister; I don't see a contradiction.
