The timing isn't right Tatts. If HO is the killer, he would have no idea who was on his team, so contacting Mess first would make him a symp not a killer, which means voting HO nets you nothing. If you are claiming HO is the killer, how did he know Mess was his symp?

Look at HO's posts, he has buddied up to everyone, I am not saying he knew Messremb as his symp, I am saying Messremb coded in that HO is ST's partner.

Look at what ST is asking, he is asking about his symp, he is asking who his partner is and Messremb answers. It is subtle, and would have been perfect but the other killer, in this case HO fucked up and killed ST.

If I am wrong, I am wrong, but I think I am right and cannot let that go. No way.

My thoughts are there on thread. Even though it may have started out as a read up of Messremb/HO it ended with a an ST interaction that seems incriminating. I can see your confusion with the case but what if the case was just...

But yeah, I know Venge is a big WIFOM fan but personally I tend to find people tend to be a bit too afraid of it. Especially in a game where nobody has license to be wilfully obtuse, I figure it's best to get the discussion out of the way early. To do well in Mafia as town involves knowing what you're looking for, and role spec done right can be a big help in that regard. For example, as Messremb points out, this setup lends itself to scum doing a lot more signalling than usual. That gives us something to work with.

Ok Tatts, I reread your case. Five hours left is the only thing connecting ST to HO, an the thing I need to check is were there truly 5 (or 6 adjusting for Mess Standard Time) hours left in the day. Because 5 to the left does seem tenuous at best. And I can see u missing a signal from Mess more than the same from HO.

Ok, been looking through just Mess's content and I still don't see it. However, Mess just keeps almost claiming, without actually saying it definitively, he is the symp. It's galling. So now what I wonder is what would be the point? I mean two possibilities come to mind:

1) Mess is a symp leading the thread in a manner that wastes time so Dday will arrive before we can figure him out
2) Mess did not signal the second killer (he did discuss the possibility that the symp didn't signal along with the unconventional idea that the other killer intentionally killed his partner). if Mess didn't signal both killers, we're spinning our wheels

With how much Mess got around on day 1 and after STs CF I think it is highly likely he is the symp. He was "interacting" so much with so many people who knows what slipped through. I don't know that, even if we spend every day looking for it and lynching based on the most likely candidate, we will find the other partner before d-day.

Mess right now just seems to be having fun, hes been as good as caught out and is just milking his role for all it is worth.

Personally, if it is option 1, I would lean towards Azath, who has somehow disappeared from the spotlight (I am surprised tatts is going after HO not Azath). If it is option #2, the question is who did Mess minimally or not at all interact with? I want to see Tatts through, but I still am very concerned with Mess's response.

Finally, what if for some unlikely reason we are wrong about mess?

Someone asked what I think of Tatts.

I think he's playing the same way he has been recently. If he's killer, it wouldn't surprise me if he changed his posting style, or didn't change his posting style. More than anyone else, he likes to experiment.

As for evidence at hand, it's not terribly covnincing, although I don't have a terribly strong conviction on anyone at the moment.
