Five builders are completely worth it. Not all the time, once you get to the end of th of course they are idle. I wouldn't go to th9 without all five though. You will want them all for a long time.

Also, I have won and lost too many raids by one percentage point to not have every single building available built. Someday you will win a 49% defense and know you were saved by that hut.

Also, completionism.

General point, anybody play any of the..... lets say tribute versions?

Got Samurai Siege the other day, really enjoying it.
Some key differences:
Troops are unlocked by completing the single player campaign, not upgrading barracks - making the single player useful.
No bonuses (ever) for clearing stuff away on your village base
Better looking (that's personal opinion of course)
meh. Link was dead :(

I used to play modern warfare but I tend to stick to one of these games at a time. Clash of clans is great.

War wise I'm finding I'm getting 3 stars against th9 with the Golem wizard witch combination.

Those little Larry's make a world of difference.

If you are looking for ripoff versions of this game, Star Wars Commander is fun. It isn't as good as CoC, and blatantly rips it off, but actually improves on it in a few areas. Something to do when all of your builders are busy in Clash.

Boom Beach looks like a bit of a rip off. Don't think you lose your troops that survive though.

Tried boom beach and its a bit meh. Just started Samurai Siege and its quite fun. Different in some aspects to CoC but still same general principles.

Best thing so far is the warring system, where as CoC you have a 24hr window that you have designated targets, Samurai Siege is when in war you just raid as normal.

I began playing Game of War: Fire Age last week. It's been getting some buzz in the press lately after its Super Bowl commercial. However it's more centered around its genericness than so much else.

It's really chaotic compared to Clash of Clans simple and clean interface. It's covered in in app purchases and there's constantly bars being filled, gifts to be clicked and stuff to upgrade.

I like playing it as an alternative to Clash of Clans slow crawl in the later game. Starting up Game of War you will be upgrading buildings constantly, for days on end it seems. You don't have any workers so you're upgrading one building at a time but as of level 6-7 it's still only taking an hour max to upgrade the building. AND THERE'S SO MANY BUILDINGS! It's really scratching that itch that Clash of Clans no longer fulfills.

It's also much more sociable. I don't bother with Alliances in COC because it mostly seems superfluous if you're not into raids and war. In Game of War however, you are part of group. You can assist other members to help speed up their production and in turn you get bonuses and presents. Pretty much anything you do also benefits the alliance you're in. It's neat.

There's a much more complicated end game about collecting certain trinkets and levelling up your hero but as of now it's just a lot of upgrading.

I used to play Kingdoms of Camelot: Battle of the North for a few years. I was amazing at it. In my "world" (or server - they had multiple worlds) I was one of the biggest players, well over a billion might and a few hundred million TKs (Troop Kills) I was in an ace alliance and we were consistently in the top 5 alliances in that particular world. Then they started adding random features that were slow and annoying but if you wanted to make any progress you had to do them. They started giving your heroes added accessories that were hard to get hold of (unless you didn't mind the rubbish versions of them) and were much more about money grabbing and stuff than Supercell have ever been. If you were willing to pay, you could easily rise to the top and people like me were being left behind cos I refused to splash out on things. Then some of the cooler guys in the alliance who I got on well with left the game and I decided I couldn't be bothered any more. I left, opened my cities up and allowed my old alliance to gain all the TKs from my billions of might.

I still think about it sometimes as I poured a lot of time and effort into it but I do not regret leaving it!

I don't undestand playing CoC and not doing wars. It's kind of the whole point. Some of the most tense, exciting video gaming moments I have had were in clan wars, knowing my whole clan was counting on me and watching my attack and if I fucked it up no one would get their loot.

Play how you enjoy though.

Yeah it's always a good feeling when you win. I got my first 3 star with GoWiPe yesterday in a war, I was chuffed for the rest of the day!

Anyone else having issues with the latest update? It's probably just my tablet but for some reason it won't update.Which means it won't load and I can't play.

I have updated on my phone and am playing and loving the new update. Keeping people out of war is something that I have wanted to do for a while. Not having to kick people is great.

Very good update! Our clan was struggling with participation, some of our top players we'd like to stick around but we cant afford taking people into a war that weren't able to attack.

I'm trying Samurai Siege on the off time I have, My base doesn't see much action except when we start a war.

Samurai Siege is a veeery interesting adaptation to the Genre. Playing the non multiplayer map is rewarding as all hell and keeps you creative.

The war format is also an interesting contrast. Interface and controls feel smoother to me? It's alot better than any of the other clones I've played and the community is competitive in a way not quite present in CoC.

There are some quirks I do not like, and I think CoC has a better rewards system, generally speaking, but I think if you are looking for a new Clashing experience Samurai Siege is the right option. Thanks for telling us about it Coco

just curious. I'm currently saving up for my barb king lvl 8 but the hog rider upgrade costs the same amount for lvl 3 hogs. how well do war attacks with lvl 3 hogs do against mid to low level th8s? currently upgrading to dragons lvl 3 and I hope I'll get back to at least regularly 2 and occasionally 3 starring with thoses but as a fall back plan how do hogs hold up?

funny thing, as much as I love how epic a hog raid can be, it really cant be trusted. Even a single big bomb inside the base walls and it's curtains for half your attack force.

I dropped some DE into a hog lvl 2 upgrade to round out my options but I think the closer your Barb King is to Lvl 10 the better.

I'm currently saving up for my lvl 9 BK upgrade. Wanna max out my spells and Defences then focus on Pekka Lvl 3. my final improvements before jumping up to TH 9 will be Minions and Valks.

No Golem upgrades though. I don't see me getting 60 000 DE anytime soon. Hard enough just getting to 30 000.

Isn't it. I am hoping to get my golem up to lv 2 before I start on the TH 9 upgrade. But I have been knocking walls out so I don't know if that will happen. It may be that the golem will finish after I have made it to th 9.

It's weird but TH9 is so much better for getting and keep DE. I've upgraded my hogs to 5 and valks to 2. I have a lvl 10 king level 5 queen (queen is the best Hero by a mile) minions are lvl 4. I'm about to get a dark hound too. Yet my Golem is still lvl 1
