In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Well, not really. They had a few chances but it was 90% Germany battering on the door and frequently being stopped only by their own dodgy finishing and a few good saves by the keeper. Very one-sided final.
Germany were the best team in the tournament by miles, in the end. Bar one blip against Algeria.

^ having said all that pretty much until the semi's it was still quite up in the air. Heck at one point Colombia could have run away with it...
