Hi, ive been reading The Book of the Fallen series for some time now and im more than halfway through MoI. I have alot of questions such as "how old are the bridgeburners"(seems to me they have been a part of so many huge "happenings" that they must be older than humanly possible) but i believe those questions will be answered by me reading on. My question is this:
What happened to Fener? I know he's been kicked/dragged/thrown out of his world(warren?) but i dont know why and how it happened. I know that he was thrown out when Heboric touched the jade finger but why? I remember Paran and Nightchill communicating and talking about it but im to dumb im afraid, was it nightchills doing and in that case why? Maybe ill get a better answer further on in the book but i feel like ive missed something or im just not clever enough to get it.

Heboric's hands were cut off in a "reve" it is a punishment for traitorous priests that send the hands of the priest to their god, and when the priest dies the soul goes to face their gods displeasure. Since heborics hands were with Fener, there was a link between them that NORMALLY pulls him to fener when he dies, however when his stumps touched the Jade it made fener come to HIM. Which is bad.

I never thought of it like this (though it is a very credible explanation).
This was what I was thinking.

1. The hand is how the destraint is connected to Fener's power.
2. All Fener's worshippers go to Fener and not just the ones that are "punished".
3. Herboric seems to have fallen out of favor of the Fener cult. I dont think the reason behind this was explained. It might be internal politics or maybe Fener was behind it.
4. Even after the hand's were cut off, Fener did maintain the connection to Herboric, lending him his power (I think Felisin or somebody explicitly wonders about how a fallen priest can still have access to the God's power, hinting that Fener is complicit in this somehow)
5. When Herboric hand connects to the warren/power of the Jade Statue some kind of reaction/connection ensures and it is powerful enough to drag Fener to the real word.
