I had similar thoughts when I first heard his reveal. Then I re-read the Contract:

Quote

MC-198 | Impenetrable Infinite Force-field Creation
Registered
The contractor becomes capable of creating a vertically-oriented force-field which stretches infinitely upwards, to the sides and downwards. The wall can be sustained for some time, but the contract only allots a single use before Fulfillment.
Ability: Once you hold this contract, divide all living players into two groups. Beginning at the next Dawn, players will only be able to perform night actions on and vote for players in their own group. Each group can lynch one player in their group per day, with vote requirements reflecting the number of players in the group. This effect lasts for two days and nights.
Renumeration: Hyperactive Vocalization. You must reply (with quote) to every post made by a player in your group, and you must do so chronologically and before posting any original non-reply posts. You must do so within 24 hours of any given post and each reply must be a genuine reply of at least 10 words.
Relinquish: you can only relinquish this contract through its Fulfillment effect
Fulfillment: once the force-field effect ends, this contract is Fulfilled and automatically relinquished.

See the underlined bold comment. At Dawn. It's not strictly a Night Action. We can probably seek clarification from PS on that, but it works from a logical standpoint.

The only other explanation would be Spatial Teleportation having an effect. Which is of course a possibility. If my guard was redirected onto someone else, then Anthras would have been fine also. *shrug*

I've held this contract since day one, and dropped it this morning.

Man.... This game just got extremely complicated.

I did not pick up the SK contract. If you're paying attention you should know why.

I am going to bed, not certain I will be around before Day times out so I will

vote Anthras

And let Ryll decide if he wants to lynch him.

I think its likely, BTW, that whoever picked up the SK contract has Rupture and the Find-Proof mechanic.

I'd also like to make a note that in one of my first games ever, suspecting a Find Proof mechanic is something that got me lynched because everyone thought it was a silly idea. Not so silly now is it?

Hold on, didn't Korbas say he had the guard contract for a bit?

I am upset with how much lying is going on in this game.

Can you explain to me your reasoning for voting Anthras? Do you now think he's scum trying to double-bluff us by putting himself in with two (formerly  ) CIs?

I think you guys should vote Karatallid out.

I believe Korv for reasons I cannot explain just now, I think Hentos and Pran are inno, and I think Korbas is the guard.

If not Kara, then I still say Korv is likely telling the truth.

I am not a guard. I relinquished Possession after it failed on Pran Chole.

And I'm deliberately not holding a contract today. Just so that I can say freely that I don't have one.

Never mind my previous comment about Korbas saying he had the guard... I misremembered.

Either you've fallen, hit yourself on the head, and don't remember ever playing mafia before, or:

You're trying to say something else here. Hmm, but wasn't that contract picked up earlier?

I am not certain anymore but wanted you to have the option to lynch if you thought it was worth it.

Unless you are the SK he is on the other side, which means we can't reach him unless the barrier is removed. Now you have a choice to make.

Uhm. You're voting Anthras on what basis? He can't have picked up SCM - you can't relinquish the force-field until it expires, remember?

There is also the question of why someone would falsely reveal having the force-field, ever. It makes little sense as they can only buy themselves a day or two, if they're playing Town with two VPI Town.

PS is less than forthcoming on the interaction of force-field and guards, btw.

I don't think Okaros is saying that Anthras is the SK, or even perhaps a regular scum. I think he wants the barrier to come down so that he can target whoever he thinks is scum.

Which is not inherently a good idea. There are means on this side of dealing with the possible remaining scum and the SK - remember, the SK has to meet certain criteria every two nights to perpetuate their existence.

With a pair of VPIs on the other side of the barrier, and therefore safe from the SK/remaining scum, the game has a higher chance of continuing in Town favour while ranks are thinned on this side. At the very least, there's no harm in leaving Anthras' barrier up for another day.

There is another reason, actually, why Okaros might want this. But that doesn't really jive with what I suspect. I'm going to have to re-read the thread.

Heh. I'm taking a break from something else. But, yeah, I think Korv fucked up.

Korv, what contract did you take on Day 1?

I imagine Day 3 is being gone through with a fine toothed comb right now so STFU.

And like hell am I going to answer that when telling the truth gets me damned because someone else can't follow the rules.

Ok, so I'm going over the Korvalain/Okaros convo after Korv says he was frozen, but I don't understand what's being intimated here?

This is a convoluted mess, which usually means someone is lying. EXCEPT for the fact that no one has jumped out to counter claim.

Korvalain says that THEY held the anti-tank vig on day 3, and they targetted Hentos. But then someone froze them. That someone, seemingly, being Okaros. Let's put aside the fact, for now, that targetting Hentos for any reason was idiotic.

Pran Chole says he used ST switch themselves and Tholen.

So Tholen dies from his own kill.

Karatallid says he guarded Venesara night 2 and Anthras night 3. Is this possible? What about night 1?

Back to Korvalain - doesn't want to say what contract they held on day 1. Why?

Another question: Would Tholen target Pran Chole when someone like Okaros or Hentos presented a more obvious target?

Hmm, Tholen must have targetted someone for a kill, why would he not? But he wasn't guarded, and certainly no one was healed. So the one option left is that he did indeed target Pran and managed to kill himself.

No, Kara said he held the guard from the beginning, but only said what he did with it on nights 2 and 3.
