A quick skim read, alkends response to Lock was quite thorough after his omgus post, possibly more so than needed but I'm still not satisfied with Locks take on it, need to reread on the laptop after work. Should be around for the last 3 hours of day

I mean this:

I'm curious as to.Locks motivation.

appears, drops a vote on a (as so far today) non candidate then pisses off. Not feeling any of the other options Lock?

GLs case on Bek is quite logical, though it pains me to add yet another to a list of possibly maybe, suggested by.my main possibly.maybe

was Locks a cross post, or a direct response to GLs case (wifom of the highest degree I am aware). But all said I want more from Lock on this one. Was he distracting from anything at all?

And I say this with the very simple opinion GL is symping you:

How can you say GLs case on me is logical? can you point and say anything GL has pointed to about me pegs me as scum? Other than the fact I misunderstood semantics and suggested we follow Rikkters advice letting Day 1 happen with the least amount of Scum power then try drive for Level 5 in day 2 which I am happy to see several players have intimated as easily possible I have done nothing but speak my mind and support cases that interest me.

GL has been against my suggestions from the start. Scum trying to avoid deep analysis IMO. Just because I was wrong initially does not mean the logic following this was somehow also wrong.

You're saying Beks argument is logical. This irks me considering how GL lays cases all over the show in an entirely illogical manner and at some point he illicited a vote from you. His cases are nothing but smoke to distract us from his drive to post pad scum to level 3 which happens at post 240.

I really urge players to either vote or keep arguments tight. Endless debating gets scum exactly what they want. Day 2 I plan to do my part either in lynching or posting the thread to death on day 2 Lynching anyone that pushed for 240.

IMO Day 1? GL needs to go.

*cue melodramatic music*

I am not going to be on when the day times out and while I haven't seen anything that screams I am scum (I personally like flashing lights that say "I am scum"). GL has managed to do enough to earn my vote for today. I think that the one thing we can learn from the last game is that if someone acts funny on day 1 they need to be lynched and then we lynch the rest of the people who are scummy.

Vote GL

Hmm no, I don't think I'll be voting GL. I think they've brought out some nice discussions and I think we could use more of their ilk. He strikes me as town attempting, rather spastically at times admittedly, to get everyone posting and answering, and upping the post count at the same time.

I won't be voting for Monok or Alkend either. I don't see what they've done to deserve votes. The signalling thing is stupid (wasn't it even a case of signalling without even actually signalling but indirectly signalling or some crap?), and with Alkend I think they've posted some good stuff. So that leaves Bek out of the current people being voted on, and while I struggle to understand the train of their thoughts (more so than even with GL) and think they've posted some nonsensical things so far, I don't know if that's enough to vote on. Maybe it is.

For now I will

Vote Lock

Simply because they've instinctively struck me as suspicious. I can pull out a couple of quotes if need be, but I don't expect people to follow. But I do want to register my suspicion in this area. I am amenable to switching votes should the need arise, though perhaps not to GL, as I'm pretty convinced they're town.

ok things i noticed

i was wrong about the extra leveling mechanic, thanks to p-s for clearing that up, which also makes bek's earlier confusion more understandable. oddly, gl continued to hammer at bek for his misunderstanding AFTER p-s cleared it up...makes no sense.

this makes me less suspicious of bek than i was when he dropped his first post. voting for alkend...am i right in saying the only reasoning here is that he showed up late to contribute? that is an odd reason to vote on day 1, a lot of people showed up late and some (denul?) never showed up at all

the gorilla signalling shit i pointed out back on page 1 seemed to pretty much be total bullshit, and i still think that...but... mo's posts have just struck me wrong; even after we all basically agree that the gorilla signalling bit is dumb, he posts this:

i mean, it's meaningless in context, but it is just weird that he finally starts mentioning some variant of monkey/gorilla/whatever after everyone has agreed to drop it. watching mo closely.

gl strikes me as a spammer who is trying to post to get to lvl 5, which he has focused on a lot. that doesn't mean he's scum though. there are a few odd posts by him though...

almost everywhere else gl has referred to town with pronouns like us/our/we/i/etc. now here he says...they. that is odd to me. it doesn't seem like a slip a townie would make imo. whoever suggested gl may be accidentally falling out of his fake town persona and really is scum may be onto something..

7 votes to lynch, 6 for night.
2 vote for Galayn Lord (Rikkter, Monok Ochem)

2 vote for Monok Ochem (Korabas, Bek Okhan)

Not voted:
Alkend, Ampelas, Denul, Eloth, Kessobahn, Lock, Okral Lom, Tiamatha

Okay so 14 hours to go, no way are we going to get to level 5 at this rate.

In terms of voting I like Bek as a candidate but for now

Vote Denul

Get your arse online boy.

ok so why are the letters "oy" of the word "boy" bolded in this post above? maybe this is just nothing but it doesnt seem like it would be an easily made accident. i don't know how to explain this except its odd.

so i am quite tempted to vote gl right now because he does seem like spastic town but there are just niggling doubts in my mind. i don't want to put him at l-1 yet since i'll be around till timeout. sadly it looks like right now mo would be the only other person i'd be willing to vote for (and i hope he doesn't respond with the same OMG WHY U VOTE ME shit just for being on someone's scum list); the votes on alkend and bek are bogus.

so that's kinda what i think at the moment, i am leaning toward gl but since we have a bit of time left i am holding my vote for the moment.

I assumed the bold o y was from him hitting the control key in tandem with the b in boy, turning on bold.

question

so the lock vote is kinda out of nowhere, we have just a few hours or less left and you are putting your vote on a new train? that doesn't seem like you are trying to get a lynch today. would you prefer a no-lynch? didn't you suggest just voting night at some point? basically you're either trying to derail the day 1 lynch, you want distance from GL, or you are voting lock mostly based on gut as you said. i'm not going to hassle you about your vote choice but are you willling/not willing to switch to gl to get a lynch? your suspicion of lock has been registered, perhaps unnecessarily. also that you are conviced gl is town, well, it is still day 1. i agree his actions seem to line up that way but at this point i don't know how you PI somebody on day 1 without some clear evidence

who else would you vote besides lock? you didn't really say, but basically just cleared alkend, mo, and gl from your list and pulled lock's name out of a hat.

anyway curious to hear your thoughts back...

ok, but doing that does this - now i'm typing boring while hitting ctrl b on accident before starting the word "boring"

ctrl b doesn't create a letter, he would have had to hit ctrl b after typing the letter b and before typing the letter o. just from a physical keyboard layout and the content of his post, i dont see how this explains the odd bolding.

I should have voted earlier to be fair, but I was hoping something more concrete might come up. It didn't, so I'm putting out where my suspicions lie, even if they're not backed up by strong evidence.

My statement of voting night was sarcastic in the extreme, not serious.

I do want to get a lynch today, even though we likely have Denul's modkill coming up. I just don't think GL is the right way to go, and out of the people with votes currently on them, I'm most convinced by that out of all of them. Out of the other ones with votes on them, I would be least against voting for Bek Okhan.

The monkey chained to a keyboard is an old reference related to spastic posting. It has long been used in games that involved leveling through posting.

ok fair enough, you suspect lock for unknown reasons... i do recall the night vote being not serious, was just curious to hear your thoughts...but strangely you have avoided my question entirely. who else would you want to/be willing to vote for? phrasing it as 'i dislike bek the least' doesnt imply you have suspicion of bek or why you would vote for him, and you also don't comment on any other players who don't have votes (like lock didn't before you voted him).

so again - are you willing to switch to gl for a lynch? didn't answer before. besides lock, who do you like and why? your reasoning for lock is gut and no evidence, just like the reason you think gl is town.

the issue i have with all of this is primarily that it smacks of responding but not answering, and not wanting to actually dirty your hands by trying to find scum (since you havent said you who think is most likely scum besides 'talking' with your vote)

since we are down to less than two hours i am going to put my vote down

remove vote
vote gl

@ol - ah ok, more movie/tv jokes i did not get...that makes the reference clearer, but you would think mo would go out of his fuckin way to NOT bring backup the monkey/gorilla shit since it paints him as a master possibly being symped. still odd even though i get it now

i agree and that's why i voted. struck me as VERY strange because gl has been on a posting frenzy and i didn't see him make this mistake before or after that post, iirc. so are your thoughts on gl still the same at this point?

For the record, I only made the chimpanzee reference because you guys had already done the gorilla/monkey thing and I thought it was appropriately tongue-in-cheek.

and this would make sense, but for mo himself, the subject of the whole signalling shit, to bring it back up is odd. almost like he waited for it all to die down to slip it in again when no one would notice

or maybe he's just making an old mafia reference. hard to say. but it does ping my scumdar a bit

I'm afraid the only solution is to go back to the old spycraft game threads and search through every use of the word monkey... if there are any.

I can think of other old games that had leveling, but OTTOMH none others that had leveling based off of post counts.

yes

why are you still voting bek? i did a reread recently but it seemed like most of your reasoning was based on his misunderstanding of the OP which ps later clarified, but you still pounded on bek for not getting it right. so is there more to your suspicion than that?
