Yeah, vast majority of maps are pretty small. Nothing like the old Halo Big Team maps here.
Most people stick an Ambush or similar scope on if possible. Even in PvE it's a better choice often.
That being said, sniping by camping some of the longer sight lines is a perfectly valid strategy. You've just got to figure out where they are and how to manage them. Lots of love for snipers in the Crucible crowd right now. XD

Yeah, I miss those Big Team Halo maps, it's practically all I used to play on Halo multiplayer. I do snipe loads in PvE, but can't get it right in PvP.
And I just earned another legendary weapon - this time in Crucible, for one of my poorest performances in a while lol. And....it's another sniper rifle! Low-Grade Humility. Seems better perk-wise than The Chosen, at least.

Low Grade Humility is the Sniper rifle I have, and is maxed out and pretty damned good...though don't bother with the highest zoom perk...the middle perk is better for stability, the highest zoom one makes it too unstable and you will never need a sniper rifle to get as close as it gets.

Some people on there are truly assclowns. I've been teabagged a few times in Crucible and I think to myself..."Does digital squatting over someone's avatar actually bring them some kind of perverse joy?"
Weird.
Weird.

I went to an area of the Cosmodrome I'd never been to before. Was doing patrol and just started exploring. Ran into Hive Word of Crota or Hand of Crota (or both?), killed them and then went on past them, underground, and then out again to a snowy area where I killed an invisible Fallen called Silent Fang before coming out at the back of the old shipyards. That was all pretty cool - I'm guessing this is all expansion story mission stuff?

Teabagging is one of those things that used to be funny if it had been earned, was frustrating when it wasn't, and hilarious when it was done constantly between friends with no rhyme nor reason.
Nowadays, it's never done appropriately (especially on Xbox Live) and is just a 100% sign of a douche on the other end of the controller except in very unique situations (friends, and people who have just done something amazing). People will teabag if their team has won by 1pt. People will teabag if they've killed you even once (even if you've just come off a spree of killing them ten times in a row without any teabagging). People will teabag when their losing and happen across your recently-deceased corpse.
It's lost all meaning and any modicum of respect it might once have had. And it has always been a "bad" thing to do on Xbox Live outside of the douche/12yo/mightaswellbe12yoforalltheirmaturity crowd, but at least their used to be times when it was earned. Now, it's basically like getting struck by lightning when I sit back and think "fair enough, you earned that", or even get to have a bit of lol because it's clear the other player is teabagging ironically/in sympathy. Such is the community these days.

This guy spent most of a crucible round being sneaky mr sniper....but got greedy and went for the heavy weapons and as I'm running towards him I'm Thinking "don't shoot, I'm way too close...the rocket will kill you if it hits me at this range" ....what does he do? Launches it. What a dumbass.

Haha, that'd actually be ok - if you've used two or three rockets, and have ammo left, but there's one guy who is going to kill you, it's perfectly good strategy to deny him your remaining ammo.
But if it's your first shot, it's probably a waste.
That being said, heavy ammo is a large problem in Crucible. I'm on my phone right now, but I'll do a better explanation of why I think it (along with supers and exotics) are kind of an issue right now later...

When the heavy ammo is made available, I tend to just hide in a corner for the next couple of minutes or so.

I think both Supers and Heavy Ammo should be done away with in Crucible. The PvP shouldn be about strategy and targeting. And the Titan Smash is too easy for a Titan to hit in a panic button situaion. They come around a corner, see me lit up with super, and titan smash without having to jump...everyone in the vicinty is iced, but they survive the blast.

I should note. I don't at all mind the defensive shield thingie, since it negates any gunfire...but I can still run up to the guy and melee him or attack him INSIDE the dome. Which makes it fair as far as I'm concerned. The guy who hits the panic button titan smash as he comes around a corner and sees me, is entirely not fair.

I'm not sure it's too much different from the Voidwalker's blast. Speaking of, now that I've unlocked all the Voidwalker perks, I'm trying out Sunsinger. So far I'm failing to see the point of Radiance (but obvs haven't unlocked all of it yet).

Got a legendary rocket launcher from a blue engram - Pax Totalus - crazy fast reload speed for a launcher but that's about it.

Finally hit crucible lvl3 and was able to upgrade ALL my gear to Legendary. Defence went up by like 160!

My poor poor poor K/D rate! I literally almost had tears in my eyes after the last 2 matches. I'm on the new Wolf areas so I don't them and thus I'm getting taken apart. 1st match I was at .67 on Widows Court last match on Blackgate(I think) it was .33.
It also doesn't help with h that stupid Party dingy popping up over your radar!!! I'm sick of that thing. Idk why PS hasn't made an ignore feature unless invited...

Heh, .67 is about as high as I usually get - only once thus far do I remember getting over 1. Having said thay, played Skirmish about 20 times now and still only lost one match - shows how lucky I've got with teammates

Bungie have announced weapon rebalancing changes. Main one is Gjallarhorn is getting nerfed. I've heard all about this beast, but never experienced it myself. More importantly for me, so is Thorn (base damage of the damage over time is being reduced by two-thirds - Yes! Take that, 70% of PvP players!!). The Last Word (reduced range and stability), and Ice Breaker (recharge time up to 8 seconds, was 5 seconds before), among others.
Auto Rifles are also getting a boost so that people actually use them again, and so are Pulse Rifles and Scout Rifles (slightly), Hand Cannons are going to go from bad to completely useless at long-range, Shotguns are getting slightly nerfed (with any perk boosts to damage and accuracy being reduced), Fusion Rifles are going to be become difficult to max out for range, to emphasise that they're medium-range weapons, Sniper Rifles are getting a unique Final Round addendum, in that Final Round will only buff damage if you land a precision shot; Rocket Launchers, aside from the Gjallarhorn I guess, are actually going to be a bit more powerful, with a bigger blast radius.

This already occured and I immediately noticed. I was playing Crucible one day and the range on my maxed out Ill Will was fine...and then next day it was utter garbage. I stood in the exact same place and the range had gone to shit. I wondered if Bungie had changed it.
Fucking hell.
I DID just get a sweet new Scout Rifle with Luck in the Chamber on it...so maybe I'll start using that.
I'll be honest, I'm glad to hear aboutn Thorn getting disaled back. SO many people used that one and the poisoning was irritating.

Yeah, the weapon itself is cool, but how prevalent it is in PvP is not. I have to say The Last Word has probably annoyed me more, basically getting sniped with a Hand Cannon.
