So, Tatts and Morgy, is this the round we all attack Twelve? I'm game if you guys are. He can't field that many ships right now and his missiles aren't very accurate, but if we let his materials and tech build up even more he's going to get problematic.

I agree with this assessment. I will go for the ancient that has his interceptor in. It makes sense.

Although I do have to run it by Blend first. I know he wants to do something different, but if we all agree to knock Twelve down a peg I am up for that.

Haha, I've almost bankrupted myself to get rid of it the last two rounds, but I just couldn't think of anything worthwhile to do. So I'm saving it for a special occasion.

Shoot them with cannons! Besides, twelve basically *has* to try and defend because if he doesn't we easily defeat the ancients, so he loses VP and then has weaker defences when he tries to fight us later. Furthermore we'd start outpacing him in reputation. So even if you win your battle but don't destroy the population, you'll be blowing up his ancients and probably some of his missile fleet. Yours is the only hex that this should be really tought to kill all the population, too. The hexes me and morgy attack would only have 2 cubes.

OTOH, if Khell looks to have better odds he can attack it instead. He does have plasma cannons and improved hulls now.

Sorry, just wanted to get my move up there.

I was thinking of researching a source (tachyon maybe) and then building a cruiser to take out Arcturus. Unfortunately there is no way I can do that this round with the upgrades and build and move actions that would be required.

D'rek, if you're super keen on netting Arcturus this round, you could go after it, and I'll do what I had originally planned (build more starbases) to assure you that I have no hostile intention.

If you want to make a GC play, I'd take action on Arcturus next round to make sure it isn't a thorn in your side while you concentrate firepower where it counts.

I don't really have what it takes to attack the GC at this juncture... maybe after another round when I can build another dread if I've gotten enough useful research and upgrades in. But right now Twelve is dominating from being Draco and its more pressing to hit him now before he gets too strong. IMO, next round is going to be when that "too strong" happens, and as you say you wouldn't be able to hit him until next round. I will also Research Plasma Cannons
