Hold on, didn´t you discard a supernova at somepoint too?
EDIT Oh wait those are the remaining hexes rather than the discards
Since you are keeping track what are your discards?

Sigma Sagitarri (2 Planets)
Spica (1 planet with Discovery tile)
Epsilon Aurigae (0 planets with Discovery tile)
Deneb (Supernova)
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Round 2 Turn 1
We at the union see the need for Advanced Economics if we are going to get anything done around here. Yet we have not developed enough scientists to help with our plight. My partner Blend suggested we convert two of our materials guys into one scientist suggesting that two heads are better than one. I wanted to tell him about the woman in the news recently who asked her 7 year old son to create something, to help her store her curlers away, with his Lego. He didn't want to listen and went ahead with his own idea anyway. Now we have the necessary means of digging some more gold from those remote planets across our patch of the Galaxy.
Convert 2 materials into 1 science.
Research Advanced Economy.
$0, S0, M5, Upkeep -2.
Colonize 3 advanced economy planets.

After doing this explore I wanted to dig a hole in the ground and bury my head. Especially after what Twelve has said.
4
There have been 12 Tier III hexes settled and there are 18 total in a 6 person game. With my discards 16 hexes are known if I'm not mistaken. So there are only two unknown hexes between 4 possible choices
Gamma Serpentis (Ancient hex)
Beta Centauri (2 planet hex)
Nu Phoenicis (2 planet hex)
Iota Carinae (zero planet hex)
So about a 50/50 proposition that you will land a useful hex. Now with the luck you have had with your draws what do you think will come up?
I cannot put it back in the pack and do another one. I do apologize.
I do think this game is won or lost on the initial explores. Khell needs science planets to make use of his race bonus and no one has given him diplomatic exchange, so he has had a very tough start.

Khell has left me no instructions for this, but almost certainly clockwise rotation (thats him going second right) and explore N when it comes round to me.
God khells start sucks.
How many of the remaining tier 3s are already defined as twelves discards?

If you're really fucked yes, but in most instances you can do well with a less than ideal explore, simply by adapting to a different strategy. Not to mention that tier 1 and 2 tiels have a high chance of ancients.
When that is said, the Hydran's are more dependent on early draws than most.

There has only been one game I have seen them do well and that is the one where they buddied up with you. It's going to be great when we get a resolution to that game.
That being said, has no one at all heard from Gnaw?

I don't know what khell would want me to do here. Two options, discard and a chance of a better hex when it comes round next. Or keep, hope someone else doesn't do a tier 3 explore and have one more shot at a better hex, but probably not.
That said thinking on it, any hex I get will be twelves discard most likely. I just don't know!

I'm new to this game, and Khell/IH's start is making me cringe. This is a shitty situation no matter which way you look at it!
There is no struggle too vast, no odds too overwhelming, for even should we fail - should we fall - we will know that we have lived. ~ Anomander Rake
My sig comes from a game in which I didn't heed Blend's advice. So maybe this time I should. ~ Khellendros
I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that self-vote suiciding will forever be referred to as "pulling a JPK" now, aren't I? ~ JPK

I'm not even sure I would have done an explore if I'd known tatts was going to research. I think you might be better waiting for khell at this point. Even if the discovery tile is revealed, chances are I won't know if he wants to keep it.

You discover Beta centauri and Spica
Spoiler
Once Twelve discards one of these hexes there will be 4 explores into tier 3 left.
IH if you had rotated to face tier 2 then Twelve would have had to explore that particular hex, therefore creating more explores for everyone else but then again leaving yourself vulnerable to him.

I would have connected to the tier 2, but khell instructions were strongly against connecting to people. I am off and away from internet for next 3-4 days, so I suggest wait for khell.

Okay no problems. Morgoth, D'rek and CF can all take their turns and Khell should be back after the weekend break.

Settle Beta Centauri.
And this is what I get for not looking at my notes. I fully planned on doing something else besides an explore. Oh well. At least it's a good hex. Not an ancient but I had less than ideal odds of getting that last tier III ancient hex as it was.
