Well I was hoping that you would make a play for the GC this round so I could have set you back a few ships with a well timed reaction. Maybe even saved a hex. But with you overloading that hex till overkill status that plan is out the window. Now the idea is do I still use my last influence disk to make things less iffy against Morgoth and Khell with a Dread upgrade. Right now I need 4 hits on Khell to take his Homeworld. and I really need those two money planets to help ease the financial hit I'll likely take this round. With that phase shield upgrade that fight is now around 50-50. Adding a cannon ups it quite a bit in my favor. Also a cannon would help against Morgoth's starbases as well. And if I lose my dreads I'm basically screwed for the last round anyway so I think I should do the safe thing and bite the bullet and do a dread upgrade reaction.

Upgrade

Remove plasma missiles from starbase default hulls

Remove 1 plasma missile from default ion cannon slot on Dread

Place plasma cannon over default ion cannon on Dread blueprint.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I think that's legit. If he were adding 2 upgrades it would be illegal. You're always allowed to remove any number of upgrades that you want as far as I know.

Now, if I do another reaction, I believe that will bankrupt me with no hope of recovery. The question is, do I care about that?


I mean, I could continue scrabbling around, probably just waiting for my other hexes to be invaded. Or I could punish twelve for having the temerity to go into my hex thinking 'easy win', not even bothering to look at what I had.

Never been a fan of the suicide maneuver...

plus it punishes Twelve for a ship, but at the same time leaves all your hexes vacant next round regardless of the battle's outcome...which could be snapped up quickly with an influence action.

Still an easy win. Not worried really either way. So feel free to go out in a blaze of glory. It will be more fun that way.

I really want this game to hurry along, I am going out on the road in January and may not have the game file or game to hand. Possibly the first day back after the new year but that's it.

Add source and computer to interceptor.

Just to double check - that will put me at -17, correct? If so then proceed. If I have that wrong then I might reconsider.

UPGRADE
drop plasma cannon from interceptor, drop one computer from the cruiser (leaving him at 8 init), add a computer to the interceptor blank spot (uses 3 total energy now, and has 4 total init) and add a plasma cannon to the spot where the computer used to be on the cruiser (uses 9 total energy now).
Gotta make sure I have enough cannon hits to take that system. I think this is a considerably better chance than upgrading the interceptors alone. Even though it hurts my hit chance, I should still have enough hits to win this, plus plasma cannon backup in case things go badly wrong in the opening missile salvo.

Yeah the remove of the missiles was more in anticipation of next round when you come a knocking into the GC. Wanted to save some an action next round.
