See, twelve, this is where you and I differ. You like to build up your military hardware, spend billions of galactic credits on an overinflated military budget, thus escalating an arms race, while I, on the other hand, prefer to employ merely the *threat* of building. Physically, materially, you have great and overwhelming advantages of those such as myself.
However, the Hydrans clearly win the battle of the mind. And, ultimately, is that not the first and most critical battlefield? Why else would you point your dreadnaughts at Morgoth and not at myself? The only apparent answer is that you have become afraid of the Hydrans.
Mission. Accomplished.

The UPPR aim to build peace for the entire galaxy. There is no need to fear us, for a true patriot speaks only truth.

As kin to the ancient and wise race of, well, The Ancients, our family has been so generous to share their eons worth of knowledge about the behavior of aggressive species. The bluster of the blue tentacle egghead species is nothing more than sulfurous smelling hot air that is good for nothing more than a good laugh. However actions speak volumes. It would be most unwise not to heed the knowledge gleamed from our kin. Be forwarned our military industrial complex is the greatest the galaxy has to offer and if angered will be turned against the next civilization that would dare cross us again until nothing but ashes remain of their pathetic people.

I played a very intense 8 player Eclipse yesterday, where the final battle (more or less) happened at the end of round 7 between the Nova and the Flare alliance.
I was playing the pirates and was comfortably situated in an acceptable group of systems, with easy access to every corner of the map through a series of wormholes, but when my two closest neighbours allied I was forced into creating an alliance of my own. In the end we had two 3 player alliances, and two players going at it solo. At the final battle we were crushed.
Having now tried the Pirates I'm a little conflicted as to my opinion of them. Launching small squadrons accross the map to raid for cash was a lot of fun, and provided a whole new set of priorities. Instead of going for systems, I went for ships. My wealth was impressive.
However, once the alliances came about in full at the end of round 5 all that fell apart. In the two front setting of last nights game I no longer had room for that sort of manouvers. Instead I had to participate in the big battles, at which point the high cost of my ships and lack of Dreadnaughts started to hurt. I think that perhaps increasing the cost of their ships was a poor design decision.
