Okay, this post will contain the final list of alts, roles and players as well as the role PMs, I'll be adding to it on an ad-hoc basis (I'm away from town from tomorrow till Sunday with intermittent internet) any thoughts welcome - edit this one in PS though in a different colour please to keep thread tidy

Mod Passwords

Spoiler Heaven - spitfire
Path-Shaper - bombardier
Mafia Manager - empower

SH password to:
-Starling (co-mod)
-Lizradus

Role passwords

I'm using some of the less-used alts although the number of Ks is making that difficult

Currently we have 14 signed up, I'm setting up alts as numbers increase to save later workload. No role PMs sent out till final numbers are in and random.org has assigned players to roles and roles to alts

Ampelas - lighthouse
Aparal Forge - tanglefoot
Eldat Pressen - tribute
Emurlahnis - blackwych
Hentos Ilm - champion
Iparth Erule - riggwelter
Kadagar Fant - tiger
Karatallid - doombar
Kilava - kingsdown
Okaros - broadside
Prazec Goul - sunchaser
Rikkter - pride
Silchas Ruin - headcracker
Skintick - moonraker
Sukul Ankhadu - hobgoblin

Alt / Role / Player / Character

Ampelas - Kill-Finder - Blend - Gerard Liscan - NK'd Night 2
Aparal Forge - RI - Gwynn ap Nudd - Teroll De'scarte
Eldat Pressen - Killer - Azathmaster - Nashid - Lynched Day 2
Emurlahnis - RI - Dolmen Weeks - Delbot
Hentos Ilm - RI - King Lear - Hassin
Iparth Erule - RI - Tattersail - Radar Bleinch
Kadagar Fant - RI - Shinrei - Neddagar
Karatallid - RI - Brujah - D'erash - Modkilled
Kilava - Hesitant Vig - Khellendros - Artuin
Okaros - RI - Gnaw - Nevar Givthreshing Vuperdante - Modkilled
Prazec Goul - Symp - Trull's Son - Terrence - NK'd Night 1
Rikkter - RI - Tapper - Gaven - lynched Day 1
Silchas Ruin - Killer - Possibly Brent Weeks (But Also Possibly Obdigore) - Sevanna
Skintick - RI - Gust Hubb - Speaker Desrit

Role Distribution

Games seem to run with 3-4 vs 1 town vs scum ratio so I'm going to keep broadly in line with that, aiming for ~3.5-1
11 players: 2.6 3vs8 - 2 killers with alternating kill, 1 symp - No town roles
12 players: 3.0 3vs9 - 2 killers with alternating kill, 1 symp - Guard
13 players: 3.3 3vs10 - 2 killers with alternating kill, 1 symp - Finder
14 players: 3.6 3vs11 - 2 lover killers with shared kill, 1 symp - Kill-Finder, Hesitant Vig
15 players: 4.0 3vs12 - 2 lover killers with shared kill, 1 symp - Kill-Finder, Hesitant Vig, maybe a Guard??
16 players: 4.3 3vs13 - 2 lover killers with shared kill, 1 symp - Kill-Finder, Hesitant Vig, Guard
18 players: 3.2 4vs13 - 2 killers with alternating kill, 2 symps - Kill-Finder, Hesitant Vig
I'm quite unsure on the number of town roles - 9 RIs is seeming a lot with no roles amongst them but I don't have a huge amount of experience to call on here. Worried we'll have lots of drop-outs due to RIs but also worried town will be too OP if I put another role in

Role PMs

RI
You are <X>, <flavour text>

You are a Roleless Innocent and Town

I'll fill in names and flavour text when I send them out.

Killer 1
You are Nashid, chosen by The One Above to deliver his wrath upon the fallen souls surrounding you.

You are a Killer and Scum. You may communicated via the off-thread PM with your fellow killer, <alt-name>. You have a single kill that must be agreed between the two of you during the Day phase. Your kill will take place in the Night phase

You are a Killer and Scum. Your fellow killer is <alt-name>. You do NOT have off-thread comms. You have a single kill that you may use every other Night, target must be submitted in Day. You may Kill on Nights 1, 3, 5 etc. Should <alt-name> die your kill will be upgraded to every night.

Killer 2
You are Sevanna, a sickly child who grew into a sickly woman. You care for your people deeply and have been horrified by their actions. You ministered to Nashid as he lay sick and have been chosen by The One Above to deliver his wrath upon the fallen souls surrounding you.

You may Kill on Nights 2, 4, 6 etc. Should <alt-name> die your kill will be upgraded to every night.

Symp 1
You are Terrence, a feeble old man from the same Southern village as Davros. The end of the young boy horrified you and you refused a portion. You have turned once again to The One Above, raising great prayers for assistance. Much to your surprise, he answered. You have been blessed with knowledge to help the chosen ones go about their task.

You are a symp and Scum, your killers are <alt> and <alt>. You will CF as Town.

Guard
You are Deiter, known throughout the island for your ability to pin people with your mighty gaze. Once your next victim catches your eye they are lost in the bottomless depths of horror reflected in the darkest reaches of your eye. Some meals have escaped when weaker islanders have broken your eye contact for a moment but you can be sure of regular dining amongst the unwary.

You are a Guard and Town. Please submit a target alt during the Day phase to be Guarded at Night. The target alt will be unable to perform any actions in the Night phase.

Finder
You are Gerard Liscan, once regarded as the most holy of men of the mountain. Many were the hundreds who flocked for your touch, sure the divine presence could eradicate any of the blights affecting them. Such pressure for a weak mortal vessel to be under, all the dying the desperate and the needy. It broke you. It broke your mind, turned you from the true path. You began to take advantage of the needy, promising cures to end all ills if only they would part with something for you. It started as money and goods. As starvation beckoned it became digits, them limbs. You fed upon heir hopes and fears and grew bloated. You have fallen from the true path but you have once been upon it. When you look into the eyes of your rival for the next meal you can see if they are touched by the divine presence.

You are a Finder and Town. Please submit a target alt during the Day phase to discover their alignment.

Kill-Finder

You are a Kill-Finder and Town. Please submit a target alt during the Day phase to discover if they have the ability to kill.

Hesitant Vililante
You are Artuin, once a great and brave man now sadly beset by doubts. Why the plague spared you none can say but it did. You remain strong, dining regularly and exercising as much as possible. Alas, surviving the plague has left you with doubts. It only took the strong and the able, so you must be weak although you realise it not. It will take some days to come to terms with the fact you are truly spared and can act.

You are a Hesitant Vigilante and Town. Once in the course of the game you may submit an alt to meat their maker. Your action must be submitted during the Day Phase and will take place in the Night phase. Additionally, you may not submit a target for the first TWO Night phases. If you are lynched on the day you submit a choice you have died, you cannot Vig someone from beyond the grave.

CF Results

We'll run with full CF in the following format:

<Flavour text>

<altname> has been <lynched/killed>. (S)He was <player name> and <town/scum>

Edit: Okay, I decided against putting character names in the CF and realised I'd forgotten to include player names, oops. CF above amended

I'll create a stock of CF scenes for the deaths of various types and roles

Day end scenes will be in 2 parts - Lynch part and resolution, NK part and day start. For a scene take the appropriate text, paste the MM output and any CFs. So:

End of Day

Quote

<MM output showing lynch or timeout>

<lynch/no lynch scene>

<CF if lynched>

New Day

Quote

<kill scene>
<vig scene>

<NK CF>
<Vig CF>

<MM Day Start>

No Lynch
The townsfolk spent the day struggling from bench to toilet, from toilet to the spit suspended over the fire, from the spit to the bench in a seeming never-ending vicious circle. As they hobbled slowly between the three they exchanged the occasional words with their fellows, looking for any sign of the presence of He Above.

Another shape rose from the bench and began the trek. A thought emerged amongst those still seated; had the current occupant been in there a suspiciously long time? Was the godly power keeping them seated upon the throne and out from under the eye of their fellows? Suspicions were kindled, opinions hardened. A flash of movement - the figure that had been moving to answer the call of natured had reached the door, had opened it and had rapidly turned away gagging. So not divine will keeping them upon the throne, just really bad guts.

The sun set upon a scene of peace for once. There had been no clamouring for a vote today. That would change tomorrow when the last of the fellow toasting over the fire was eaten.

Town Lynch
The townsfolk spent the day struggling from bench to toilet, from toilet to the spit suspended over the fire, from the spit to the bench in a seeming never-ending vicious circle. As they hobbled slowly between the three they exchanged the occasional words with their fellows, looking for any sign of the presence of He Above.

Was the godly power keeping them seated upon the throne and out from under the eye of their fellows? Suspicions were kindled, opinions hardened. A flash of movement - they returned to the bench. Was that a speck of white in the eye? Glances were exchanged along the bench, they would have to be sure.

A strip of meat was dropped under the bench, the figure darting in behind it, ostentatiously to retrieve it. Hands clasped around the suspects ankles as those to either side grabbed an arm each. A small chair about the head stunned the figure and it was dragged limply to the spit.

Hot coals close to hand the first cut was made. The figure didn't stir. Another, deeper cut produced some twitches. Quite a deep cut actually they now realised as blood began to flood onto the flames, putting up clouds of sticky smoke. It looked like dinner today would be raw.

Hot coals close to hand the first cut was made. The figure twitched but didn't stir. Another, deeper cut to the body provoked a scream of rage, the figure trembling but unable to move by the ropes binding them ever so tightly. The townsfolk began the routine that had worked for the previous killer, searing flesh from bones. It was over rapidly, this figure had not the raw strength of the first killer.

Silchas Ruin has been lynched. He was Obdigore and Scum

They had failed to deliver his wrath. Maybe it was no fault of theirs, maybe it was. He Above would have to find another vessel to slay these demons who had once been human. There must be other survivors upon the Isle, hidden in a refuge. Perhaps even untouched by the plague. He would find them.

Password for SH is spitfire, well done town.

NK
The door to the stable keepers cottage hung open, swinging in the breeze. It was spotted just as the sun broke the horizon, the townsfolk quickly gathering to investigate. Sure enough there were ashes within. Once again divine wrath had struck.

No NK
The sun rose behind a thick blanket of cloud, promising a day of gloom and cold across the Isle. The townsfolk rose reluctantly from their beds and gathered together. Someone was missing.

There, In the corner of the old forge! A pile of dust to dwarf all past piles. Truly that must have been a monster of a man to leave behind such remains. Then someone asked who it could have been. A quick check revealed no-one unaccounted for. So a mystery survivor, hiding away from the democratic process and therefore deserving of the fate come upon them they all agreed.

None who noticed mentioned the broom leaning against the wall alongside the dust or the obvious metal fragments protruding from it clearly remnants of the last time the smith cleared his floor.

Vig Scene
(To be inserted immediately after the NK scene and both CFs to follow the scene)

Returning to their fire, the townsfolk spotted something amiss. Splinters of timber from a door scattered in the street like straws. The door they had been part of was barely recognisable as such. The house it had opened onto looked dark even in the fresh dawn light. A torch was produced, lit from the cooking fire, the townsfolk advancing slowly in its fitful light.

A dark streak upon the stairs and more shattered timber told of a struggle. The wreckage continued to the main bedroom and out again through a body-shaped hole in the wall. There, impaled upon the sign of an inn was a body.

As shocked gasps grew to be screams the figure looked up. <Towny/Scum Vig Target sentence continues>

<Towny Vig> It cost much of the remaining strength but two words croaked out between the dying lips. "It was..." The head dropped as the last life fled.

{NK CF}
{Vig CF}

<Scum Vig> Brilliant white eyes flared like beacons, the divine wrath etched on the figures face. Clearly the healing skills hadn't helped it, the flesh having closed up tight around the sign. Pinned and helpless it was slowly dying, the figures own body weight reopening the wound time and again. The folk settled down to watch. They would enjoy this.

He Above looked out through the eyes of Sevanna, last of the folk who had remained true to their god and their humanity. They had failed to deliver his wrath. Maybe it was no fault of theirs, maybe it was. He Above would have to find another vessel to slay these demons who had once been human. There must be other survivors upon the Isle, hidden in a refuge. Perhaps even untouched by the plague. He would find them.

Game on.

Starling, I've started the clock in MM however I can't seem to delete Sukul Ankhadu from the players list or to set them to dead as a result the vote summary isn't accurate - just so you are aware for updates.

Obdi wants to kill Blend already. I'll copy & paste convos to here maybe once a Day unless you want to do more often?

Edit: Got it sorted

If Gnaw does need modkilling it'll be at the 36 hour point so if Day times out put the scene below in as a separate post between Day End and Day Start scenes, adjusting MM etc. If we get a lynch then it'll be however many minutes short of 36 hours the lynch was into Day 2. I'm confident it wont come down to it, he didn't want to post yesterday as too close to being in Galactic Council, today he'll have to take the risk.

Modkill Scene
The townsfolk knew something was wrong. Had they miscounted before? A search hadn't turned up a body or an ash pile. No-one would have left the ready supply of meals here, surely? So what had happened?

One thing was for sure - they were now a meal shorter than they had thought.

<alt> has been modkilled. They were <players usual login>

The next vote update I do will be the last before I head out to work, back about 2am again.

Hopefully they'll lynch but it is looking unlikely - even numbers of alts does make it harder for a Day 1 lynch but that's no excuse. Malaz Mafia doesn't do D1 lynches any more it seems. My next games I'm going to play like an absolute ****er and see if I can't force them to lynch me.

Dolmen is right on the money and the killers consider Prazec rather than the Kill-Finder, things are looking a lot more hopeful for town than earlier in the day. If it does resolve early just check that the killers have put kill orders in properly, bolded etc.

Starling signing in!

GustTick has made a good catch with AzathPressen. Shame the day one trend of not lynching is continuing.

Azath has changed their NK from the kill-finder to the symp, which may make life difficult for them.

I do have to wonder if AmpBlend has noticed the difference between finder and kill-finder. It is clear in the PM that the wording is different, but if he's only skimmed it then he may have missed the significance of the wording. No action submitted as yet.

Also, I've sent another message to Gnaw reminding him of the modkill timer.

Mess, what are your feelings regarding allowing spoiler access to modkills? I know some mods don't allow it.

Aye, I thought it a nice move - letting town off the hook whilst shooting yourself in the foot.

I see someone is thinking of unknowing paired killers, shows at least one is looking for a twist that may be there. Clear indication to a roled player that they're RI, will anyone pick up on it though.

I thought Blend missed it too, not going to bring it up to him, though I may make discovery wording a bit more of a heavy hint as to his role.

Gnaw has signed in now so no issue but I'd say for anything short of filling every thread in the forum with their PM (or, you know, breaking a big rule) let 'em in.

Looks like they're splitting the vote well. I would suspect a last minute switch of votes could happen so those provisionals may be needed. Resolution may be a frantic 5min!

Lynch has swung to Rikkter and Blend has changed his Kill-Find to Eldat Pressen. Nice call by him. Scum will be down to 2 alts after tonight, one of them fingered by the finder.

That was a smart choice from Blend. It will be interesting to see how he handles it. If he comes out guns blazing, 100% certain that Azath is scum, Obdi has the experience to figure out there is a finder mechanic and kill him off.

You are Teroll De'scarte, once a renowned sage. Alas, none come to you seeking knowledge now. Instead you go to them, seeking their help in evading the cooking pot each night.

You are a Roleless Innocent and Town

Dang, saw the Sage part and thought "wahoo, I'm a finder." Alas it was not so.

Guess I'll try to stir something up at some point as an RI insteadl. Looking forward to remembering how to play.

Cheers

Cool, tonight I will kill Fener and mount his head over the fireplace. :p

Okagnanawha yeah okay I can't make this one work. Gnos?

I'll post in a little bit. Don't want to make alting me by cross posts with Galactic Council. Although alting me is rather easy. I've thought about using a language translator to switch my sentences to another language and then translate that back to English. But nobody on this site speaks English that poorly. Except for a couple of Americans. *sigh*

I wonder if there's an "English to hipster" translator?

Fantastic. I love symp roles

Prazec Goul, on 21 January 2014 - 05:54 AM, said:

In checking in, I'm hoping to plant some ties between myself, Amp, and Erule. Not too subtle on my part, I think, but seeing as I won't have a huge post count in the early days to drown out accusations aimed at my killers, I might as well throw some focus on somebody whenever possible. Not too worried about implicating myself, as Eldat seems intent on taking charge.

Hell yeah. Vote for the most townie.

Skintick, on 22 January 2014 - 03:07 AM, said:

I guess I'm going the acting angry route. Though, I am bemused by the lack of willingness to lynch the "good guys." I could do whole case studies on why you lynch both the blatantly stupid and the effortlessly brilliant. Some people can't keep themselves from letting their role slip while others are too good to even let out even a silent fart of the rot they hide inside.

Ampelend:

Ampelas, on 20 January 2014 - 02:15 PM, said:

Ooh, I haven't had a finder role in quite some time. Gonna have to try to be low key this game - I flippin' suck at that, but hey, maybe I'll be better at it this time! (*crosses fingers*)

Ampelas, on 21 January 2014 - 10:50 PM, said:

Provisional Find on Rikkter. If lynched, Iparth Erule.

Ampelas, on 22 January 2014 - 02:41 AM, said:

Change my find to Eldat Pressen please.

Path-Shaper, on 22 January 2014 - 03:03 AM, said:

You catch the eye of your suspect as he returns from the privy. A quick glance is all it takes, no lingering contact to draw suspicions upon yourself.

Eldat Pressen does have the ability to kill.

Ampelas, on 22 January 2014 - 03:05 AM, said:

Arg, I'm glad that I moved my find. Figures that Skintick was right.

Ampelas, on 22 January 2014 - 03:08 AM, said:

Provisional find on Aparal Forge. I think he's the clincher on the swing away from Eldat.

Really doesn't seem to have figured out the KILL-finder bit

That was a smart choice from Blend. It will be interesting to see how he handles it. If he comes out guns blazing, 100% certain that Azath is scum, Obdi has the experience to figure out there is a finder mechanic and kill him off.

Looks like Blend may have done that, albeit in only a limited way. They'll have doubts about going back to him tomorrow though I'm guessing. Do you think we should point out it is a non-standard role he has?

Our killers so far:

Silchas Ruin, on 20 January 2014 - 03:08 PM, said:

Ampelas posted 'first' in thread. I say we kill him tonight.

Eldat Pressen, on 21 January 2014 - 03:33 AM, said:

Ooooh baby here we go! Havent been scum since the last sengoku game , and this is my first game since ghoul gulch!

Prov kill ampelas for now, sure.

Its Azath here BTW.

Any strategy ideas?

Eldat Pressen, on 21 January 2014 - 03:55 AM, said:

Iparth Erule is our symp, relatively sure. Possible signaling with the word killer and also being really antagonistic( symplike)

Silchas Ruin, on 21 January 2014 - 02:17 PM, said:

I suggest we kill anyone we feel like and lynch everyone we can. Strategy is for noobs.

(Obdi here, btw).

Night Kill ampelas or anyone Eldat changes it to

Silchas Ruin, on 21 January 2014 - 02:28 PM, said:

also Skintick could be our symp, with a hey here I am firstvote.

That can be dangerous though. I'm tempted to add to it to see if he backs off but I'm not going to in case the train picks up steam.

Eldat Pressen, on 21 January 2014 - 05:22 PM, said:

Prazec goul seems lke a good nk option i think

Eldat Pressen, on 21 January 2014 - 07:58 PM, said:

Actually, yeah: Prov kill Prazec Goul with approval of silchas

Silchas Ruin, on 22 January 2014 - 01:38 AM, said:

Prazec Goul if Eldat is not lynched. Iparth Erule if he is

Noted. However, for clarity, NK Iparth if Eldat is lynched, but what if someone else is lynched?

Eldat Pressen, on 22 January 2014 - 02:25 AM, said:

Then Prazec Goul is NKd

Silchas Ruin, on 22 January 2014 - 02:25 AM, said:

huh?

If Eldat my partner is still alive, we are going to NK Prazec Goul.

If Eldat my partner is lynched, I'm going to NK Iparth Erule.

Path-Shaper, on 22 January 2014 - 02:28 AM, said:

Just checking.

I'm just going to be mysteriously afk until the end of day, since I don't really want to change my vote either way.

That was a close call...

Eldat Pressen, on 22 January 2014 - 02:58 AM, said:

Honestly though, well done skintick for catching me, even though he didn't get me lynched. Picture perfect townie statements are all i do day one regardless of faction because if i survive day 1 I likely last far into the game and have an impact on it

Silchas Ruin, on 22 January 2014 - 03:17 AM, said:

Going to have to kill him sooner or later.

Kilava might be symp. Ugh. so many signals.

Switching from the finder to your own symp, these guys are confident!
