A cool geography game I found on the BBC site. Strangely compelling. Try to pick where you are basically using a sort of Google Streetview.

Closest I got was about 300km, can't remember the final score (needless to say it wasn't flattering).
I think it helps to zoom in on the mini map where you place your guess.

Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

The way I played it was I only rotated the camera, I didn't move anywhere.
I was only 400 or less miles off on 3 of the places, but I guessed Alaska for a place in Norway, and Columbia for a place in the Ukraine. That's a pretty massive fail...

You’ve never heard of the Silanda? … It’s the ship that made the Warren of Telas run in less than 12 parsecs.

I got 11,727 pts?
not sure what that means but was 200 kms in for three of my guesses, Sao Paulo, an Island off Osaka and a town north of Arizona Phoenix. my worst was a guess on Barcalona that was actually an island off Morroco. As poorly travelled as I am I really enjoyed this game. Thanks Sombra!

Glad you like it.
I think the closer your guess is to the right answer, the more points you get.

Had the same. Put in Poland instead of a place on the same latitude in Russia, and Argentina instead of Mexico. Everything else was pretty close.
