THis may be a spoiler:
ONLY IF YOU HAVE READ FORGE OF DARKNESS!! SPOILERS LURK THEREIN!!

Spoiler

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

The Bluerose group, the survivors of Silchas' 'invasion' seen in MT, had an entire civilization. We learned in RG that the group who fled included the kids and non-combatants who weren't killed by the Edur betrayal.

Rake's group appeared to be mostly warriors and a handful of priests/priestesses and other followers. Likely they weren't loaded with kids and any they had would have grown up by GotM.

Throw in the low birth rate Korlat mentions in MoI, the handful of part-blood Andii we meet throughout the series and i think you have an answer.

a depressing thought has occurred.
Is this trend basically following tolkiens theory of an unopposed race of men coming into their own and supplanting all the other races such as the andii ,edur ,trell etc?

I don't think it so much "unopposed" as, the civilizations that came before destroyed themselves, or were destroyed when other civilizations had a meltdown. Think of the ramifications of Jaghuts altering an entire planets climate in one fell swoop.

The remains of the older races civilizations were easy pickings for Human beings who breed fast and have few notions of "ethics" or "Justice" when a profit is to be made.
