Looks great! Im more than a little jealous... I really want a picture of the old guard, based on the last supper that someone started but I havent seen any updates on it. Such a shame because i would so buy awesomeness like that.

It's in a big pile of unfinished stuff I've got, where my ambition far outweighs my skill.

Looks great Mal
Rejoice. For very bad things are about to happen

there's plenty of existing art that is good enough to put on your wall - Puck, Onrack, Corporal Nobbs and of course Spindrift have all produced several works that are worthy of display and that's just off the top of my head - oh! also, Urb - is Urb still around? I'd still like to get into the t-shirt business with Urb

No disrespect to any of the other artists but Spindrift, for me, is/was capable of achieving something truly special in relation to the Malazan material - also wossname...the professional artist, haven't seen him/her in a long time - Merlkir! Hir Brukhalian (though weirdly titled Itkovian - it's clearly Brukhalian's last moments to me) remains amazing.

The Malazan artistic tradition seems to be about openness and each artist, it seems to me (being depressingly untalented personally), feels enough freedom to interpret the material in their own particular way. which I think is awesome and this is one of our greatest assets as a fan community.

I love you people. How can I encourage you? what sort of prize would interest you?

Nobbs, I've seen your recent stuff. There can't be a great deal that out weighs your skill nowadays ;)

Also, I agree Mal. The artists on this page are just silly good, most of my favourite threads are art based

That's awesome Mal. I'm jealous.

I've always liked Onrack's art, but spindrift and the other artists here do great pieces too.

Onrack has great range, Puck captures emotion better than anyone else, and Nobbs - I haven't figured out Nobbs yet but he's good

But Spindrift's efforts really suit me - I get it, immediately. This image of a K'ell Hunter belligerently getting ready to take on a company of cavalry is just awesome to me and is easily the best representation of any variety of K'Chain Che'Malle that I'm aware of - the arrogance is communicated, which is special and different.

edit: I'm not overly impressed by the Jurassic Park inspired work that appears in the posh version of MoI, just so we're clear.

To be fair, I do love how dismissive the k'ell hunter looks in that picture. Shoulders down as if to say 'really? do you want to die that bad? ok...' .

Sorry to be digging up a thread from years back but don't want to create a new one for a single request. I'm looking for a specific picture - by Spindrift, according to ME website. This one: https://s-media-cach...c477e90fec4.jpg I went through Deviant Art and Malazan Wiki but cannot find it. If anyone has a larger version without copy: I'd owe them: the pic would make a fabulous FB background screen and I'd also like to play with it on deepart.io :p

If Siergiej's link isn't working for you, delete the . at the end (after "fec4.jpg").
