It's worth upgrading it with another plasma cannon (probably over the drive). Then if you do decide to move and attack there is a good chance you will take the hex. She can't build a starbase in Gnaws homeworld as she doesn't have any builds, so if she is defending she has to upgrade some other ship. If nothing else you might force her to pass earlier than she'd like.
