Everyone considers us a threat, CF. A heavily weaponized dread will do a lot of damage together with one of my cruisers.

Okey Dokey then. This is a perfect round to get myself combat-ready. Lots of moves to spare and resources out the wazoo.

I will leave you all to guess what a wazoo is.


EDIT - kind of glad to get out of lazy pacifist mode anyway. It's more fun to blow stuff up in any game.

OK since drek is about to demonstrate just how much damage you can do with all the resources, and apparently my alliance now has all the strength of a wet paper tiger, I'll take a risk and trade 9 material for 3 science, and research advanced economy.

move disk from 318 (return Grey and orbital cubes both to Money and material cube to materials) to 304. Colonize material slot on 304.

Move influence disk from player board back onto 318, colonize grey planet with materials.

Reset 2 colony ships

IIRC, about 2 rounds ago you did a huge crazy attack through the wormhole into the area around Gnaw's homeworld. It worked. Then last round they pushed back through the wormhole and you had a huge battle in 305. Which you won!!! But in order to win you had to bankrupt yourself a lot, so your only influenced hexes right now are 226 (homeworld) and 306. You've still got 2 starbases in 305 (the wormhole hex), so you can influence it from those if you want.

So as for what to do next you could influence 305, and/or if you want more room to grow I can give up 209 Delta Eridani (south of my HW), and actually you could even have phi piscum and the pulsar if you want, but you'd have to get a ship over there. You've got a ton of actions available given your income so lots of possibilities, but not a ton of science or materials to work with right now. So I do think growing is the best thing to do for you right now.

This has been by far the most interesting game of eclipse I've played. So many memorable moments Gnaw and Nova burst in the centre, gnaws crazy schemes and determination to always have the last word via reactions, khells crazy play across the galaxy, d'rek giving a masterclass in how to play lyra, and schooling Orion, the various bluffs, counter bluffs, feints and backstabs going on between me and twelve... And now cf and morgoth who have been quietly building up in the corner are going to sweep in and win the game.

Also this is definitely the game where people fell in love with the influence move, this game is certainly the one with the most number of influence moves played of any I've been involved in.

Very true. I only played in full-expansion-rules games prior to game V. The core game is certainly more streamlined, but I feel like strategic options and the ability to pivot from an initial strategy is severely limited without access to the developments and other destabilizing elements like the wormholes.

This 9p game, even though it moves at half a snail's pace, is way more interesting.

Me. IH, I can move my interceptor to 12's homeworld to aid a blockade?

Otherwise, put missiles on a blueprint. 1 dread or convert 6 scince and can afford 2 cruisers.

And I'm not done with that action just yet. I need materials so I can build ships so I can ATTACK! ATTACK! ATTACK!!!!!!!!

My goal at this point is not to finish in last place even if it helps someone else win. Right now I can see D'rek ditching her alliance and have it a battle between her and Morgoth and CF for the win.
