So there you have it. I think Gnaw already posted the player vs. planet rolls. Now we just need to wait on him to effect the VP draws.

EDIT - unless somebody has the list of remaining VP tiles. I can't recall if he posted it or not.

I did all this with pen and paper + hand rolling dice using a cup borrowed from my Yahtzee kit (you know, the one with the velvety interior so it muffles the clacking of the dice). I'll have the roll summary sheets with me tomorrow if anybody finds a mistake so I can roll back combat if necessary. Off to bed for now.


I realize now I should definitely have used a reaction to put hull on my interceptor. Might have staved off defeat and at least let Morgoth take the hex. Oh well.

congrats khell. I would have targeted the starbase first but I wasn't around when gnaw decided ancient targeting rules and I'm not one to complain. I think IH would have had a day on the matter too :-)

the next . round is going to hurt unless drek decides too show mercy (yeah right). I'm no threat to her right now and she could use all her materials to make monoliths because no one is going to reach her part of the galaxy.

The one thing I can say was actually down to a good tactical decision was targetting only the dreads first, despite the fact that the combat simulator was telling me that I had significantly better odds if I got rid of the cruisers before destroying the second dread.


The downside is that I'm now going to have to de-influence the warp portal hex in order to pay for upkeep ;) If I had lost it, I would have at least got the production from it, but now I get nothing for next round. A hollow victory? Well, at least I've gained galaxy cred :)

No, I haven't, I only heard of Vassal when Morghy mentioned it a little while back. I think it only has the default version of the game. Still a couple of rounds to go, my money would be on CF/Morgh to win, but Tapper did very well to beat back their onslaught.


I do hope Gnaw will be alright, it has been a fair few days now.

Then just launch Vassal and open up the Module, then select "Look for online game" and you will see the lobby load up.



I have figured a lot of it out over the weekend. The good thing is that I could play right now in a live game against anyone that is online. The download didn't take long.
Those were the instructions given by someone on the Vassal Website forum. I have not played a game there though. I observed for 30 minutes last night. One player had 4 energy consumption on both his dread and cruiser but only nuclear source. He was piling ships into the GC and I had to let him know the set up was wrong. I think the game needs the other players to be honest or actually wait until a player has completed their move before the next player does theirs. I went into a different game lobby and watched for a bit and then back into this one. The guy had taken the center with his illegal builds. Then the other 2 players left. I felt bad for pointing it out. It was only by chance I observed for the first time. I should not have said anything.

I am playing a mock game against myself. 3 players. Just because no one is online and I am trying to be good at working vassal, practice makes a smoother game, if say, I play Jayne one night on the laptop. Khell if you're by a computer I could play you one day this week and we'll see if we can finish a game either between 9-5 or save the game and finish it the next day.

@ CF - I think the +12 Source be a good research for you this round. You'd be well placed to build a pretty terrifying dreadnaught.

That or missiles. Missiles are kind of my weakness.

Though with collaboration - you with a couple of uberinitiative flux missile boats and me with an ubercannon dread to back it up, we'd be very powerful.

But it does tie our moves together very closely until the end of the game. If, say, tapper gets plasma missiles then we might be in trouble. If I got missiles instead, I'd be able to act of my own accord.

Hmm.....that said, I don't think Tapper can afford missiles anytime soon. A high computer high initiative, multi AM cannon dread might be what we need right now more than anything.

When did Grievance go and accept diplomatic relations with Tatts? I don't remember them doing that. Discarding two points for one and now passing up on another point because they couldn't take a three tile. As for the battle of 304; losing a Dread was about a coinflip but even still it will make the next round or two quite a bit more challenging.

Do not influence 304 after battle:

Upkeep:

-25+18 income+5 banked= -2
Bankrupt Supernova hex 391 return 2 grey cubes to materials
-21+18 income +5 banked= 2 banked

Science = 0 income + 0 banked = 0 Science
Materials= 2 income +2 banked= 4 Materials

Round 7 Starting Values (2$/0S/4M Upkeep -0)
Round 6 VP total: 17 (2 hexes, 5 tech, 8 Rep tiles, 0 Diplomacy tile, 0 Discovery tile, 2 Race bonus)

I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
