We have, over the last couple of games, added all the expansion content. vassal has only the core game stuff.

Gnaw can probably PM you the password to his FTPe so you can grab the files from there. We do the game maintenance in Inkscape - an open source image editor. If you're not familiar with it, it takes about 1/2 hour of frigging around before you get used to it, and after that it's pretty slick.

I am just mainly looking at understanding how the root base of the game is played before I completely make a hash of IH's position. So the core stuff should be fine for tonight. I have not worked with Inkscape before but it can't be that hard to figure out. I will save that for later on.

Vengy, if you're trying to get an idea of how the game gets from the start to the built-up positions we're in now, take a look at the Chatclipse #1 thread - all the filler talk for that game was done off-thread, so each player post is one and only one action, and I posted board updates along the way at the start and end of each action phase. So if you read through that (maybe with the rule book along as a reference) you can maybe get a visual idea of how the game went from start to round 6 (where that game is up to so far).

You live and learn. Mistakes made this game and last have been noted. I've been in many situations now that in future games I will have a bit more experience. My biggest mistake this game was not getting starbases earlier. Then her stupid interceptor would not have come over. IH did warn me but cryptically and I think at this early stage in my Eclipse career I needed a bit more babying than that
