There you go speaking Greek again. Why again are we still in the combat phase? I thought that most of the important actions have been done. Shouldn't people be submitting their upkeeps about now? I want to know which side of the fence I have access to already.

Twelve's upkeep is done.

Morgoth's waiting to see the discovery.

CF's could be done.

Gnaw, Tatts, and IH can't do theirs until Gnaw figures his out but he needs input from those two on which hex to keep which depends upon whether they want me to stay in the alliance or not and how ever so badly Gnaw wants to keep Aldebaran or Delta Eridani.

Khell's can be done.

D'rek needs to say what she is capping and colonizing.

Tapper are those colonization orders from way back there somewhere still valid?

And if any of this has already been said, I'm sorry I missed the post.

Alliance mates:

I can keep one hex. My homeworld or IH's.
  • If I cap IH's and bankrupt mine, Tatts can claim mine next round.
  • I keep mine and IH can reclaim his. But I suspect he really doesn't want it.


i can also leave the alliance round 6.
  • After Tatts and I aren't sharing a disc. We keep diplo.
  • While we're sharing a disc.
    • We lose diplo but
    • I take the traitor card.


Edit: The leave the alliance would have to be after IH moves his dread. Either direction he and I would have to pass each other.

Retreat to my hex next to the GC. You might want to accelerate your search for a replacement for me. I'm knee deep in thesis defence prep, preparing for my trip and thesis corrections over the next two weeks. And then I'm off travelling for 9 months.

Well if Mess is out it's actually too bad Gnaw didn't go bankrupt as he would be the logical replacement for IH but since that isn't the case who would we want to reach out to fill in? SolidSnape was the last person to play. Sir Thursday played way back when the first game was going but I haven't seen him in a while. Anyone else we recruit would need to spend time getting themselves up to speed with about a little under half the game left to play. It would be nice to have a larger pool of participants. Who else can we corrupt recruit to the cause?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Another option, if we can't find anyone, is to give over joint control of IH's board to his allies, and they (Tatts and Gnaw) have to come to a consensus over what move to make when it's Mechanema's turn.

The advantage for them in that they have closer control of more pieces and resources is, I think, balanced out by the fact that they would have to discuss things between each other openly in the thread for those moves.

Haha! I actually laughed out loud when I read this. Well, at least your spaceships are somewhat modified!





But the question (for me) now is, where do the Planta go from here? I think Round 6 might be a consolidation meditation round, after the vigorous activity of the previous one. The Planta are certainly not used to such space-hopping exertions!

I had rolled two discoveries earlier before I remembered that IH hadn't said which hexes he was influencing. They are voided of course.


We are still in combat phase waiting influence decisions by IH and D'rek. Once those are in I can roll discoveries so Morgoth and Tapper can do their upkeep.

Then we can blow some stars up, see what the R&D labs are throwing our way, and then eagerly await CF's agonizingly difficult decision on rotation for Turn 6.

If I'd have had two more mats I would have seriously considered keeping Delta Eridani. Build two interceptors. Influence action for a couple of the other hexes. Then passed. I could have played the make them use their discs up game.

But alas.

I'm fairly upbeat. I'm 7th in line for the tech but that doesn't matter because I can't afford any anyway. I'm certainly better off than Morgoth was in game 3. And I'm not much worse off than Twelve.
