Ah, I guess I wont be able to settle Tappers homeworld either, since CF claimed it? Bah.

CF - I should write a better eulogy, but I'm on my phone and all the undergrads are drinking in the park. It was a good alliance for the time it lasted, and you would have pulled your weight and more for the last couple of rounds.

Oh wow! I didn't even imagine that that would happen. I remember when I moved the interceptor I was thinking CF couldn't afford to react without ending up having to remove a lot of discs from the board, and so was glad when you did build the starbase, but I didn't think it could actually irrevocably bankrupt you!

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

CF you may have bankrupted me also. The ambassador cube.

I came here to ask somebody to do the rep draws and finish the round if they felt like it. I'm going to be tied up all day with a minor health issue (dad) and a minor rational discussion major argument over how to deal with it (sister).

The ambassador cube would only come back when CF removes his ambassador, so wouldn't you already be doing your upkeep at the same time and it wouldn't affect you? Or is it that the upkeeps (officially) go in turn order and CF's upkeep happens before you?

Bah, sucks doubly that Morgoth can't take K.Volantis now either. I forgot about that. It was essential to my "plan" that I have K.V in my possession at the end of the round.

Upkeep comes after battle cleanup though. Goddamnit.

Oh well, Morgoth, you can take that and Procyon first thing next round and follow it up with an artifact link. That should net you lots of extra cash & materials to kill shit with in Rounds 8 and 9.

Upkeeps go in order. In game 3 Tapper didn't lose the production of a cube because he went before me in order. Iirc.

Btw, Morgy, you have to account for the loss of one as well. Unless, and I don't have rules handy, you can offer me an ambassador exchange during upkeep. Assuming you influenced that warp portal hex.
Edit: if he can and does so, mine goes back to the science track, and the new one from Morgy goes to science, making it a wash.

Morgoth still keeps his 2vp for the alliance too, right? I think we did that in game II, where somebody pulled out of an alliance intentionally and got the deserter card, but the other player retained the bonus.

If I can I'd like to offer you the ambassador, yes. I believe that should be perfectly possible.

If somebody could look up the rule on ambassadors that would help. Might have to go to boardgamegeek forums. I don't have the time right now

Yeah, I remember that. We decided you only flip over an alliance token when you betray the alliance, and either way it stays on your board forever, even if you are the only member left in the alliance.

Seems to be a bit debated -> http://boardgamegeek...-an-ancientgcds

I would go with ambassadors can be exchanged anytime colony ships can be used -> during any of your actions, as well as right before upkeep, but not during combat or cleanup nor in the middle of upkeep

EDIT: the official FAQ from the designers says it is okay: http://boardgamegeek...se-official-faq

The plants know better than anyone when silence is called for.

Now, the question will be debated for all time - did they know all along, or where they just being their usual plant selves, oblivious to everything around them?

All now look upon the plants with newfound consternation - and more than a little terror.

The Planta shall send one of their own to the Directorate, as a parting gift. Perhaps a nice shrubbery.

Well, that didn't go nearly as well as I hoped. I do not respond well to finger wagging in my face nor "don't ever talk to me like that!"

She wasn't close enough. Maybe she remembered me doing that to our dad when I was 13 or 14. (Nurture/nature debate be damned - a lot of behavior is learned behavior.)

She left shortly afterwards. Something, I think, to do with me telling her that if her signature wasn't on my paycheck, my birth certificate, or my marriage certificate she didn't get to tell me what to do. *shrug*

Wow, that escalated quickly. Also dreks upkeep is terrifying! Bad luck cf, you and morgoth were definitely on the right track for the win. Morgoth needs two moves to grab kV and Procyon too, though a sensible bit of reordering should put him in a strong position bankrupting some of the minor tiles.

He's definitely going to need to grab artifact key to be able to defend what he has though, but I imagine drek will get artifact link which would be a big points boost. I can see drek having a monster point total now.

My upkeep is straightforward I think

Money 0
Research 2
Production 27
