If I survive long enough to get my missiles off will be a miracle. You can't even start to retreat until the engagement round and I fire last. Maybe if I use my last reaction to give me another computer so I can fire after IH's starbases but then I would have to remove some hull to do that giving IH's starbases a chance to finish me off before I fire my missles. Not to mentin that I would have to bankrupt my only foothold on the other side of the supernova to afford that reaction as I can't nuke my homeworld to reclaim it.

No don't even bother to retreat. If I get gifted a miracle of ones by my enemies then my best bet is to destroy as many of their ships as possible.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I'd give you a reasonable chance of getting your missiles off actually (about 1 in 4), hence why I brought in the cruiser.

Not a good round for me I'm afraid.

I fucked up royally and completely - I'm out of the game!

I miscounted an influence disc while coming up with my last minute plan to defend Procyon. No possible way to bankrupt enough hexes to stay in it now! I can't believe I did that considering how much I looked that plan over and over.

Not sure what to say -- sorry Morgoth. :)

I was dragging you down anyway I guess...now you can cap my territories and get some good VPs at least.

Unless somebody else can see a way for me to make my upkeep, that's it I'm afraid.

How do my ships work? I know I can't make actions or do anything particularly useful, and I guess my ships are enemies to Morgoth now?

I thought I could bankrupt 3 hexes and still afford it. I went to the trouble to write it down and add it all up before I even proposed the idea.

didn't realize until today that when I was virtually "replacing" influence discs on by board as a result of bankrupting, I skipped over -21 and went right to -17....[time elapses]....actually now that I look again, I see I still have a line item for "get procyon influence disc back". That explains it, but doesn't change the outcome.


Man, I feel like an idiot for doing it, considering how careful I am with planning my moves and resources (especially this game).

Sorry to ruin it for you Morgoth, and thanks for being a good and fun ally to play alongside.

It's not just your fault, it's Morgoth's for not triple checking and D'rek for late round shenanigans. That wormhole generator is so powerful, she can attack you without you attacking her. Just imagine her smile. She does love a good picnic.

Nah, it's my fault 100%. Screwed up a number and it sunk me. Stuff was so borderline for the Directorate I was strongly thinking about pulling out of my alliance at the end of next round, just to give Morgoth a leg up cause he is leading me so much in points. Freeing up those hexes should give him a nice boost anyway.

2 captures with artifacts makes the artifact key a pretty awesome choice for him next round too.

I hope nobody thinks I did that on purpose just to boost Morgoth...I really didnt! :)

I'm actually pretty bummed to meet such an ignominious end in this year-long game.
