Well Grief, Vengy, If you accept diplomatic relations you will be guaranteed to lose points and miss out on a chance to improve on the points you currently have. Plus when you finally decided to drop the Dead Weight that is Gnaw and Tatts you have to accept the traitor card as well as the -3 points for leaving the alliance. Not a good move to take as you likely don't even need the extra cash to beat me.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

The traitor card doesn't change hands on alliance dropping. Separate mechanics.

Gnaw IH can pass can't he. Twelve has not even got an interceptor and I don't see him building one as he has no materials to do so. He only has two dreads yes? IH is going to fire and kill a dread straight away regardless of what Twelve does now. If Twelve does another action then IH gets a reaction to counter that yes? What do you think Twelve is planning.

@Tatts and Grievenge: The way it stands now Twelve has a fair chance at walking away with the hex without losing a dread. After the missile engagement each ship is firing one cannon. And Twelve's does Orange damage versus Yellow damage being returned. That being so, I don't think it's worth the 5 money to go to -30 just to drop another ion cannon into the battle. Either build a second starbase or pass.

With a second starbase, the likelihood of killing one dread before it can fire missiles is much improved.

They have 3 hulls with the last modification. 4/4 health.

The way this will work is if we don't build the other starbase, all 3 ion missiles will miss. If we do build it, all the ion missiles will hit and we'll be kicking ourselves for "wasting" the build.


Edit: The second starbase is going to be expensive. Influence disc at $5 == another hex bankrupted == 2 less material cubes worth of production + the cost of re-influencing next turn.

edit. I think we should make sure we beat Twelve this turn. He is totally screwed then. That leaves IH ready to do what's needed next round.

edit2. I wonder if IH left a provisional on what he wanted to do if Twelve added Hull.

Current: $12 income. 0 in bank. 18 material income. 9 mats in bank.

Diplo gives another money cube, so $15 income.

Assume Twelve loses and we keep that hex.

-30 upkeep. $15 income, 18 material income. 7 mats in bank. (the starbase build that put us at -30)

Bankrupt 204.
  • Return cube to mats track.
  • -25. $15 income. 15 mats income. 7 mats banked.

Bankrupt 304.
  • Return cube to mat.
  • -21 upkeep. $15 income. 12 mats income. 7 banked.

Bankrupt 108:
  • return 1 grey cubes and 1 science cube. Put the grey on science, dropping science income to zero.
  • -17 upkeep. $15 income. 12 mats income. 7 banked.
  • convert 6 mats to $2.
  • -17 upkeep. $15 income. $2 banked.

Start round 7 with $0, 2 science, 13 mats. And Turn 1 has to be an influence of 108. Of course with only 2 science it's not like we'd be researching anyways.


If Twelve wins, economically we're better off. The price of that second starbase is considerable.

But I think it's worth it. *shrug*
