It's probably not a good idea to just deliberately bankrupt out of the game just to take IH's spot Gnaw. I agree with others - first try to find a replacement player and if that fails then just have consensus control between you and Tatts.

Just bankrupting the draco out of the game for the sake of switching is a little weird because it's too easy of an out for an underperforming faction - I feel like your desire to remain in the game as draco is much stronger if you don't have the option of just shapeshifting into a mechanema.

Aren't all factions/ players underperforming compared to yours?

I would prefer a replacement player, but it sucks not to have IH. Gnaw and I would not be good at controlling IH's moves.

So what's the plan for next round here. One of us should for sure grab those missiles. I am happy to do it, but I almost feel like they'd be of more use to you sitting on the front lines. It's a cheap tech for either of us and can make a pretty big difference in a fight.

I can afford that plus gluon computers this round (even though it basically drains me of resources), and I'll make an influence action to switch around some production on Spica for more materials. If you grab the missiles then my resources will probably go into monolith research + some more physical defenses or somesuch.

Or are you looking for some different tech in your first choice?

Soon I suspect. Thankfulyl we do hold a bit of a Scientific advantage. We'll see if that's enough.

No, not really. I just haven't had to invest much in military yet.

EDIT - and RE IH's moves, another player is obviously ideal, but you both will be coaching him on the overarching strategy anyway. I figure joint control would be the closest thing to coaching a new player through the last few rounds anyway.

But that's just my opinion. I don't feel real strongly about it either way. If Gnaw wants to bankrupt out (which he stated he might do earlier anyway) and assume control of the Mechanema then I'm cool with it as long as the other players are.

I figure strategy has to depend a lot on the board layout that you're dealt. I chose to research right away and got blocked from easy Tier 1 access, therefore my best bet was to hide behind my choke point and turtle. My last 2 games have been fairly aggressive so I'm more or less exploring the pacifist option. Not ruling out military action, but not until there's a blistering need for it.

Also, my points total isn't the hottest thing. Morgoth has a massive advantage with his perma resesarch VPs. I know I'm dragging the alliance down and that the best option is going to be for me to concentrate as much as possible on VP assets until the end of the game. I could pivot to military, but I may have already missed that opportunity. I feel like a strategic pivot has diminishing returns the later in the game it occurs, and I'm still sitting pretty for turtling...so that's what I'm going to do.

I gotta say, it's less stressful!
