I'm going to have to do an influence to pull one or two discs. I just need to know which one you all are going after.

I have to have two actions. an Upgrade and a Move.

Didn't realize things had come back around to me again. I meant my last post as a summary of the previous disjointed ones, and to update my action / economy summary. Here is turn 2:

Admiral Booie,

We have lost control of the ship production facility on Formahaut Gamma. An armed, organized rebel group believed to be composed of shipyard workers seized control of the forcefield generators at 17:20 today and locked us out. They slaughtered any staff inside loyal to the Directorate regime and are preparing to launch our two military space stations, the New York and the London. They claim to have access to launch codes, and assert that they are trained in the use of the stations' weapon systems. What's more, they have laid claim to the Formahaut sector in the name of "the true Supreme Director".


I have not been made aware of any intelligence that might have prevented this, sir. It came completely out of left field. We are doing what we can to sabotage the stations' launch but it seems unlikely that we will succeed.


Requesting military aid immediately. We will do what we can until you arrive but our means are limited.

I proposed the hive because of your new cruiser. It does block our access to each other. And Tatts can't afford to get his ships too far away from home. imo

With D'rek and Tapper with 2 cannons per and Khell with 2 pts of damage per hit I think their odds are pretty good actually. Every 3 rounds the GDC should on average take out 2 interceptors so if you figure WCS they lose two in round one leaving 4 interceptors. But on average with just 4 interceptors they land one hit every round so after three rounds there are 4 interceptors to 2 HP left for the GDC. So the next three rounds WCS lose two in round 4 so it's two interceptors left and they should land 2 more hits.

I'd say the overall odds of winning are roughly 70% with 6 interceptors with the listed upgrades. I bumped it up a little as hits from Khell's ships cause more damage. D'rek what did the simulator give you for odds?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I'm not taking the free cruiser. VP are definitely worth more.

My upgraded dread has ~80% odds vs the hive, if tatts brings in a ship odds should swing even more in my favour.

I'm not sure whether it is going to be best to move in the one dread, and upgrade it so it's more suited to a fight or move in both ships. Moving in both ships probably gives better odds, but i imagine there is a high chance that tatts would lose a ship. Moving in one and upgrading gives lower odds, but less chance tatts would lose a ship.

Though odds are still 95% if Tatts moves in an unmodified dread

Yeah that works, tatts moves in one dread and we should be able to take out the hive. Tatts can either do that via one move and pass, or he can do it in two reactions and pass first this round. Or he could grab some research and pass later in the round, depends how eager he is to grab advanced labs I guess.

I could see CF and twelve passing on the next go round.

Giving up 2VP for 1 round of material production (a cruiser costs me 4 materials) doesn't seem particularly smart. There are very few occasion where I will take something other than VP from a discovery tile. 4 materials for 2VP is a trade i'll make at nearly any point in the game.

I don't use the simulator. I calculate by hand and I understand what I calculate is a rough calculation of the average expected outcome. But I'd take even 60% odds against the GDC with only 2 interceptors at stake and I think that is probably the low end of the expected odds.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Gnaw my calculations are correct. Adv mining cost 8 science because I purchased plasma cannons before I purchased Adv Mining thus lowering the cost one more to a net discount of 2.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

On the slim chance it gets back round to me:

UPGrade improved hull over both hull on my dreadnought, and positron computer on the blank slot in my interceptor
