Can someone explain to me the significance of that entire event... Why they ended up there, why Osserc was in the sword of his and why he made his presence known once in the tent? It seems like a lot of things happened in the sequence i just dont understand all the way.
To me this book just isnt put together as well as the other malazan books, i like the story and all i just find myself a little too confused sometimes with who is who and why they are there and who they are fighting with or against...

You've just answered your own question. The plot is not great and the way the various threads of the narrative move and weave in between each other doesn't make a lot of sense.
How ever, in terms of plot, the meeting between the Gods of Shadow and Dassem sets up the events of Toll the Hounds. As for why Osserc was in the sword, who knows? Why was he sleeping in the fortress to begin with? Did Cowl wound him and he had to recuperate inside the blade? Or was the investment in Kyles blade just a means of gateway for Osserc to show up in the middle of things? It doesn't really seem to have any significance in the later ICE books.

Osserc hid in the sword back in the Chapter 1, when the Crimson Guard were on Bael. The warlock Shen was drawing power from all kinds of warrens and somehow Osserc was there and being fed off of by Shen. When Greymane killed Shen, it woke Osserc up, who you'll remember was last seen in a pocket memory/dream warren in HoC. When Kyle attempted to stop Cowl and the Veils from killing him, Osserc realized he had an ally and jumped in Kyle's sword.
Jump to when Jan, Traveller, The Lost Brothers and Kyle are in Shadow hold. They fllow the bhokarola guide to a dome made of stones and Traveller and Kyle enter. Kyle's sword starts to get hot and smoke..fire..more smoke..then...OSSERC! HOORAY HE'S HERE! THE WIND KING! SKY FATHER OF MY PEOPLE!
YOU CAN'T BE HERE! LEAVE!
I KNOW THAT SWORD,TRAVELLER.
ALMOST A BIG FIGHT...
Then monkey with a mop.
Shadow didn't care.
Looks like Osserc was just along for the ride. When they got to shadow, perhaps shadow assaulted the sword feeling the presence, but when they realized it was Osserc, they just ignored it, knowing Osserc meant shadow no harm. Truth is it isn't very clear why he came out of the sword then, but since they were never in shadow before, and Osserc was willling to hang out in the sword, then upon arriving in shadow he is forced out/magics himself out, I surmise it has something to do with being in shadow.
As to your opinion of the book, I think its put together fine. The glue holds up nicely. The pages are sturdy and the cover is a nice thick cardstock that holds up to the abuse that I have given it from reading it over and over so much from misunderstanding/missing things. Just have fun and enjoy the fight scenes. ICE is playing a long game with a few of the elements/characters. You'll see that over the next few books. Many are hoping his final book in the series will wrap up some loose ends.

Theorizing that one could poop within his own lifetime, Doctor Poopet led an elite group of scientists into the desert to develop a top secret project, known as QUANTUM POOP. Pressured to prove his theories or lose funding, Doctor Poopet, prematurely stepped into the Poop Accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself in the past, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a mirror image that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his own bowels was made through brainwave transmissions, with Al the Poop Observer, who appeared in the form of a hologram that only Doctor Poopet could see and hear. Trapped in the past, Doctor Poopet finds himself pooping from life to life, pooping things right, that once went wrong and hoping each time, that his next poop will be the poop home.

Except for giving Osserc a dramatic entrance and a meandering plotline that is still not quite clear.

That was a great scene, just passed it. Really enjoying this book so far.
The bit where Traveller kicks the shit out of Kallor and says "that was well overdue for another friend"
That was awesome.
I'm assuming/hoping Jan is K'azz
Still not enough Tayschrenn in any of these books.

He never makes as much of an appearance of someone on his level should be given... I guess thats all part of it, he seems almost to strong to have around too much.

Remember the dream he had where he saw Anomander and Osserc in Emurlahn. Osserc was picking apart the shards of Shadow House saying how it was an intrusion and Anomander was telling him to leave it be. I think Osserc just wanted to see Shadow House again, knowing he couldn't just waltz on in there with Dancer and the Hounds keeping guard what better way than hitch a ride?
One thing I found funny that I never put together before was the similarity of the warren Serc (path of the sky) and the spelling of OsSERC.

I think your right. One thing people forget is this is such a complex and in depth world just even with 10-15 books you really can't capture and explain all that SE & ICE have come up with. These are two guys who are writing for each other, we should count ourselves lucky to be able to just read what their creativity has created. I'm sure a lot of the things we find confusing and events that don't seem to correspond probably make perfect sense to them who created this world.
