Or, Stark could use his SPIN-tech, take away Wolverines healing power and BAM, instant win for Iron Man!
Screw you all, and have a nice day!

I think fundamentally both Iron Man and Wolverine lose to someone with sufficient control of electromagnetic forces. I mean, seriously. Iron Man suit. Guy may have been able to absorb Thor's lightning, but that's a very specific situation with a highish level of electricity - you can make something explode eventually if you hit it with continuous current (400% capacity may have lasted...how about ten thousand percent? BOOM), never mind just crushing the suit into tiny ball form. Or ripping it apart.
...or using your power of electromagnetism to make a makeshift railgun and blast a hole in where the suit used to be before it got asploded. >.> Pretty sure that would also take off Wolverine's head - never mind adamantium skull, that shit would be in fragments. Though you might as well just do that with your basic powers. Crush, rip, stretch. Doesn't matter, ends the same. Or if you had enough juice you could just start fucking around with dark matter. Or thermite, as Illy so awesomely mentioned earlier. Or pour so much current through the adamantium that it cooks Wolverine's brain inside, again.
And I'm pretty sure that out of the two who are actually being compared here, Stark has more the ability to do the above than Wolverine does. Like, if you cage match them, Logan is screwed unless they start next to each other, and that's assuming they both have foreknowledge of each other but no preparation time other than being equipped with their best gear.
'Course, normally I'd argue Iron Man would be taken down easy with an EMP grenade of some kind. >.> But I think he probably has shielding for that, or at least what most versions of them would manage to do.
I think the point I'm making is that, on paper, Iron Man wins.
And they both lose to anyone with sufficient control over electromagnetism.
But in a comic, Wolverine would probably win.

Indeed. With Wolverine only surviving because Magneto either got interrupted or didn't particularly feel like killing Logan.

Man, re-reading this thread makes me angry, how can you silly idiots believe Wolverine stands a chance against Iron Man!

Iron Man is a guy in a suit. A young Wolverine is scary enough to beat the Hulk-read the bloody comics, man! Wolverine would win-not easily, but he wouod win.

Okay, lets repeat the other pages discussion. Explain how Wolverine beats Iron Man. Iron Man. Not Tony Stark but Iron Man.
A man with a god like intellect, housed within the most sophisticated piece of weaponry on the planet, a suit that depending upon the situation and writer, is capable of going toe to toe with the worlds most powerful heroes and villains.
Lets ignore the power creep that has occured over generations that makes the mere concept laughable, the same way Batman vs Superman makes no sense. Lets go back to 70s/80s Iron Man and Wolverine. They're standing in a field. Or to give Wolverine a chance, lets say some kind of urban environment.
How does Wolverine beat Iron Man? More importantly, how doesn't Iron Man beat Wolverine?

Wolverine is next to immortal. His bones are pure adinatium. Ironman can search him a bit but not actually kill him. Once wolverine's claws cut threw the suit it is game over.
Your argument is invalid.

How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

it's really hard to say. Here is some of what Inhave found:
Wolverine's Adamantium CAN cut through normal Vibranium (with some degree of difficulty). ... Adamantium is an order of magnitude more indestructible than Vibranium.
Logan once under the hypnosis of Mysterio, tore the guts of Hulk and made his way out. If someone can do that with hulk, he can definetly rip apart the iron man armor like Tin can, without breaking a sweat.
Wolverine’s claws generally can’t get through force-fields. That’s why he couldn’t cut through Guardian of Alpha Flight, or Magneto’s shields. So he shouldn’t be able to get through Iron Man’s shield
The speed of which he can heal has increased over the years. Wolverine has survived many violent situations, including being caught in an atomic explosion and having the adamantium ripped from his body by Magneto. During the former he was able to regenerate his body tissue within minutes. This process has been described as ‘adaptive self-healing.’ Every time Wolverine has endured massive trauma, his healing factor adapted to help him cope with greater amounts of damage.
If Stark uses a suit made of special material that has elextromagnetic shielding (which he probably has) and chemical weapons (which he does have), Logan will surely lose.
Conversely, Logan is a master assassin and likely wouldn't take Iron Man head-on. In terms of hand-to-hand combat, Logan is whole order of magnitude above Stark im terms of sheer experience as Logan is hundreds of years old amd a veteran of many wars.
Stark is a genius-if he can keep his ENOURMOUS EGO in-check them he stands a great chamce of winning.

But the real question here is-would the old school Spiderman (not the wimpy kid from that new movie) beat Iron Man?
